The granite and changes for this property are owned by the Rothe EngineeringThe only reason we cancelled the contract is because the house was not being completedRothe Engineering set the closing date as July ***, back in April *** *** did not tell us that he was funding the project himself till September and then proceeded to avoid usAt this point he would not respond to any inquires about the property's statusRothe Engineering forced us to cancel the contract because there was no completion dateMy husband and I would have happily bought the house if we were given a realistic time frame but closing dates came and wentWe loved that house and would have kept the contract if Rothe Engineering had completed the house or at least worked on the houseSince, neither of these things happened we were forced to cancelWe do not own that property therefore we should not be held accountable for work done or planned to be done to that propertyIt is the responsibility of the owner, Rothe Engineering

*** *** and her husband were under contract to purchase a home under constructionSince they choose to enter contract at the beginning of the construction, the time frame for completion was unclearI was paying for the construction out of pocket so I would do the work as funds became
availableI attempted to give the ***'s realistic timeframes for completion but admittedly it took longer than I had anticipatedThey wanted me to relocate the front door and and install some bigger windows and open up a wall in the houseI gave them a price and they gave me a 50% depositI completed the work they asked me to do but the rest of the house was not completedPrior to the house being completed they opted out of the contract citing that it was taking too longI did not refund their deposit since I did complete the work and it was their choice to opt out of the contractIt is not work I otherwise would have done and ultimately I t ended up costing me money since I had only been paid for 50% of the jobRelisting the property for more money does not have anything to do with the issue the complainant has raised

Rothe Engineering is only addressing half of my complaintThe other half is a sink that is being held by Caliber GraniteMy husband and I went to this specific granite company because they were recommended by Rothe EngineeringCaliber came to Rothe Engineering's construction site to measure the kitchen and took my sink in order to cut the hole for the sinkCaliber cut the granite without a deposit, now they are refusing to return my property because Rothe Engineering did not pay for the granite even though it is detailed in our purchasing agreement that the granite was included in the price.

The [redacted]'s communications with me were sporadic. Sometimes direct and sometimes through their realtor. They would often not respond to my communications at all. I never stopped responding to their communication but rather funneled it through my attorney and realtor after they chose to stop responding to me directly. The bottom line here is that nobody forced the [redacted]'s to cancel their contract to purchase. They chose to do it and therefore should accept the consequences of their decision. I did not gain anything from any of the money they expended. I don't own any granite and I made changes to the house that I never would have made and got paid only half of the agreed price. Both parties lost in this situation. As I said the house took longer to complete than I originally anticipated so I take responsibility for that. However the [redacted]'s were not forced to vacate the contract and if they would have paid the bal ance of what they owed me for completing the work they contracted for there would have been enough money to pick up the granite. Their decisions and failure to follow through with either contract they entered into resulted in the current situation.
