wanted a $40 refund. I mentioned to him that it was a packaged plan that carried a discount (33%) because of the package and has always been non-refundable. This is the third packaged course that Mr. [redacted] has purchased (see highlighted part at bottom of all three inserts).Immediately following my explanation of it being non-refundable, Mr. [redacted] quite directly asked me if I've ever heard of the Revdex.com. I said I was surprised he went that route to which he replied that he was surprised that I would give up good word of mouth from him. He also indicated that he believed that because we can absorb losing $40 more than he could, we should give it to him. I mentioned that we hold all clients to their agreements just as we are held to our end of providing top instruction.This flex plan is a way for folks like Mr. [redacted] to, in this case, bring their child for classes that he said were crucial to his son's development. He has 2 classes left on the agreement, which are still available to him. We hold the classes included with the package indefinitely, and as stated in the agreement it is purchasing a package of classes that, individually, would have cost him 50% more than what he paid. This plan was the third one he has purchased, so it's nothing new. Also, Mr. [redacted] originally went with the current flex plan because the commitment of a time-based membership meant he would lose out when he couldn't bring his son in. With the Flex plan, although still a commitment, allows him to use the classes at his own pace and schedule. Review: I went to a reduced rate trial tai chi class per a groupon. After that I said I would like to take classes and they showed me a rate per month for several months of classes. I need to cancel after the first month and their agent says I have to pay for 6 mos. that this is a term contract where the cancellation is the full contract amount even if you don't use the services. Their agent is member solutions inc. This is an outrage that they charge full price for services that are never going to be performed. It's clear this is a scam to just bill people out of money as rothrock never sent me an email schedule of classes. They could care less; clearly they just want the cash.Desired Settlement: I understand a reasonable termination charge and am willing to pay another 1/2 month as a cancellation fee (87.50).
