To whom it may concern:To respond to [redacted](from here on known as customer) complaint I would first like to address the most important comment about myself and crew telling her son to go slow and "milk the job"  How do you milk an [redacted] claim?  The paperwork states what...

they would pay for.  The customer forwarded to me 2 letters she received from her [redacted] company regarding what she would be paid/compensated for. .  These are attached to this response. What would be the purpose in "MILKING HER"?The customer asked if I needed help as her son needed a job.  Customer stated she was going to be  paying her son because of a fine she had paid for him.  Son had little experience but a person to do laboring was needed so I agreed to this.   Customers son was told by myself to cut shingles and to do it slowly to avoid mistakes as there was not room in job for mistakes financially.  Another worker told him to slow down as "being on a roof" was not a place to be rushing... for safety sake. My crew were all aware this was not an unlimited funds job. Originally this started as a barter job the customer was told approx $200 in repairs.  Oct 26th was not the day the roofing job was taken on....the barter was set up in September for minor roof repairs replacing caps and 3 courses of shingles...On Sept 24th I went up on the roof and found damages beyond what customer and I spoke of and suggested she contact her [redacted] company which she did that day...Paper attached showing date of loss The [redacted] agent came a few days later and approved us for covering the roof with tarps again as shown on the paper I was asked to do an estimate by the adjuster for [redacted] for all the sides of the roof attached...This is the $17,000 Customer speaks of.  She received a copy of the same estimate the [redacted] company received  which is attached.  Customer knew from adjuster the whole roof might not be covered and it was not.10/9 Two separate reports came from the main office of her [redacted] company stating what they were going to cover and what the costs were that they allowed.   attached with this response as well. After many delays starting the job due to money per customer being sent to wrong places. The job was started. The customer insisted she get my discount at [redacted] and went with me when the first and second major purchase were ordered all receipts are attached for any purchases made for her job to this responseWhen the customer refers to no progress in the job...The scaffolding was built as the [redacted] would not cover more than $100 for rentals which  Customer knew and agreed to this and directly asked if materials were hers after building was repaired.  She was told yes. One day of work was called due to a unsafe windy stormy day wind issue where the customer argued with my crew about continuing to work and his response was I don't get paid enough to get blown off a roof.Customer states her roof was left wide open....The roof was stripped to a point of just 1/4th the roof approx. 420 square feet only of shingles. Sheathing and underlayment had not been removed so customer was not exposed to the elements. AND tarps were again in place when I left the job. From my understanding from talking to [redacted] the only item not delivered to the customer is a rug and it's underlayment as she is not ready for it. Rug was not covered by the [redacted] as a replacement. She told [redacted] that the $428.40 that was to be paid to me for tarping roof called emergency repairs on the detailed trade breakdown 1.8 were not real figures and she was buying carpet with that when actual figures say cleaning of carpet only. Figures shown in the [redacted] paper work attached.Since the customer stated she wanted to not replace certain parts of the roof stuctures as stated in the claim approval nor insulation that she was paid to replace and upon tearing down part or the sheetrock in the upstairs bedroom and finding there was no main ridge pole.  I became uncomfortable with her requests and decided that even though I myself would get no pay for my time I would rather take a loss and walk from the job than do a poor quality job that would not last and would make me look badTo my understanding from what the customer told me she only received a check in the amount of $7969.19 Final amounts spent are attached as well as copies of any other information you may need as stated with in this response. And as just an item of interest.  I have been told since by several other contractors that if they had known I was going to do a roofing job for her they would have told me not to as this is her MO. Furthermore contracts that I performed in the area of [redacted] that know of her stated that they would write letters on my behalf as did the three contractors that know her & my workers as well.Sincerely [redacted]
