This company will NOT give your deposit back even tho they "claim they do not do that to people" (keeping deposits on a vehicle when you are not able to afford it). I put $700.00 dollars down for them to hold a vehicle for me, and after two weeks I informed them (due to unseen circumstances) that I could not afford to purchase the car, and asked for my deposit back the [redacted] yelled at me and said I would NOT be getting my deposit back! I tried a couple more times to ask for the money back, and was insulted, yelled at, and spoken to extremely rude over and over..... I have never in my life been treated so poorly by any person who runs a company, and deals in customer service. I have filed a complaint with the attorney generals office also, because people should not be treated in this manner for any reason what so ever.Product_Or_Service: vehicleOrder_Number: noneAccount_Number: [redacted]Desired SettlementI would like (and desperately need) my $700.00 dollar deposit returned to me immediately.Business' Initial Response Customer placed a 400.00 deposit on 7/20/13 for a 2000 Ford Expedition. We usually don't take deposits unless the customer is sure about the future purchase. He had explained that he needed a bigger vehicle to expand his business and that he would trade in a olds intrigue towards the purchase and that he was sure about doing business with us. Customer never came through with the trade. He then came in on the 24th of July leaving an additional 300.00 down payment and we made sure this deal was going through without a problem and he also needed an additional 3 weeks to complete the deal. We like to work with people---not to many dealers do this for customers. We took his total deposit and fixed all issues on the 2000 expedition for the customer.... He then called us (route 16 auto) about 12 days later to inform us that we did not want the expedition any more because of personal reasons. During the time the Expedition was here after being fixed--we had at least 2 customers interested in his truck but we already had a deposit and could not sell it. We have held up our end of the deal by fixing his truck and he assured us we wanted the truck---so his deposit went into the truck--plus more. We have informed him that we do not have the funds at this time and that we will refund him when this 2000 expedition sells. Consumer's Final Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I hope the check arrives today sept 6th, because the company told an advocate from the attorney generals office spoke to rte 16 auto sales a week ago today (last friday), and they (the company) would be sending a certified letter with a check for my $700.00 dollar deposit on or by september 6th. My mail arrives around 2 o'clock this afternoon, and now they post a reply YESTERDAY sept 5th stating now "in the next week or two" I hope they were just late on their reply, and not stalling any longer, since the vehicle has already been sold.... Business' Final Response We are looking to refund the customer in the next week or two.
