Route 8 Auto Sales Reviews (3)

Review: I purchased a 2006 Pontiac G6 from Route 8 Auto in August 2013. In December of 2013 the power steering in the vehicle failed. I took the vehicle to the ** dealer near my home for repairs. While the power steering was being repaired the repair technicians reported back to me that the rear rotors were rusted so badly they were not allowing the brake pads to function. As a result the front brake pads became cracked. I paid for new brake pads (front and rear). And rotors in the rear, as well as a sway link bar to be replaced. I began to have engine issues with the vehicle in June 2014 involving the vehicle to not start, and the engine jerking roughly when braking. Before I could get in it into the garage, the vehicle completely stopped functioning in the parking lot of my work. I feel as though this vehicle was sold to me in unsafe driving conditions as the brakes were not functioning properly.Desired Settlement: Due to the amount of my time and money that I paid for repairs, I would like to have a refund of at least the $500 they gave me for my trade in vehicle when I purchased the Pontiac. And I don't want Route 8 to claim repossession against.

Response:

Are car are warrantied for 90 days after purchase. We don not do customer repair work. We Send everything to a certified affiliated repair shop near by and if you had running problems 10 months after purchase seems a long past warranty expires. We have extended warranties available but you ''in writing'' decided not to get one..

Review: I financed a car from them on 2/5/14. The week of the 17th I called them a few times because I was losing power steering fluid and followed the advice given. on saturday of that week on my way to the auto parts store I lost my steering and almost hit a car. the rack and pinion was bad. I had the car towed and upon diagnosing the vehicle they tld me that the dealer should not have inspected the car that the front bearing was bad and they had to know that when the car was inspected and it is not safe to drive. the warranty does not cover this repair so I called and spoke with [redacted] who runs the place and ask if they could and would repair it and let him know what was said and he said no and if I return the car I will not get any of my money back. [redacted] at the repair shop told me to turn him in. they are not standing behind their vehicles and are financing and selling vehicles that are not safe to drive.Desired Settlement: I would like a replacement for a car of equal value or for the dealer to cover the cost of the new bearing and labor since they inspected and sold an unsafe vehicle to me that I could have had an accident in.
