Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  The allegation [redacted] is making that myself and my roommate [redacted] were informed at showings before signing our lease that the garage would not be accessible and not included within our lease is completely false. This was in no way shape or form a misunderstanding on our part. If we had been told this prior to signing the lease then why would there be any more need for communication on the issue or a need for [redacted] to try to fix the garage? I reported this issue to the Revdex.com because I do believe this was a case of false advertising. It was never mention to myself or my roommate [redacted] during the initial showing of the home that the garage would not be accessible. [redacted] is [redacted]s associate he is the one who did the showing of the home he informed us that he did not currently have keys to the garage at that time but he did say we would have access upon move in. If indeed it was revealed to us in showings that access to the garage would not be possible this should have been clearly stated and noted within our lease and our lease makes no mention of the garage.  Below I have attached email correspondence from the business in these emails it states on 10/24/16 that [redacted] was working to resolve the issue with the garage. So why would [redacted] state this if from the beginning before signing our lease we were informed that we would not have access to the garage and it was not being advertised? Myself and my roommate are requesting $100.00 dollars be taken off of our rent as this is how much it would cost us to rent a garage to house our vehicles. After months of battling it seems we now will have no access to the garage so this is the only way I can see a resolution.    On Tue, Nov 1, 2016 at 7:27 AM, m[redacted] <[redacted]> wrote: Hi [redacted],   Since we have not gotten an update on the garage like we were promised, I think it is only fair we receive $100 off our monthly rent. We do not want to pay for space we cannot use. We have been patient but it is approaching 2 months we have been in this house. If this is not addressed by the end of the day I would hate to have to file a complaint with the Missouri Real Estate Commission.   Regards,   [redacted]     Sent via the Samsung GALAXY S® 5, an AT&T 4G LTE smartphone -------- Original message -------- From: [redacted] <[redacted]>  Date: 10/24/16 5:15 PM (GMT-06:00)  To: [redacted]  Subject: Re: Tenant Ledger Update  [redacted]-   I am working on a resolution to this and am waiting on a response from the property owner.  When I know more in the next day or so I will update the two of you and we will be going from there.    Thank you for your patience.    [redacted] Founding Partner [redacted] Property Management P: ###-###-####  F: ###-###-#### [redacted] “Renting Made Easy”   On Fri, Oct 21, 2016 at 6:24 PM, m[redacted] <[redacted]> wrote: Mr [redacted] and I have not heard of any progress on the structural upgrade on our garage located at [redacted], KC MO.  We were not informed of the structural damage until after we signed our lease. The garage structural damage was brought to our attention the day we received our keys, not prior.  It was not communicated to either [redacted] or I that the garage was not usable till AFTER we signed our lease.  You may want to discuss this with your leasing agent, [redacted].   Upon signing the lease,  it was communicated to us it would be fixed within 2-3 weeks and could be used at that time.   It has now been 5 weeks and we have not heard any date at which it will be accessible.  We would like to have access to the garage by November 1st and if that is not doable, we would like to be compensated by a reduction in our rent until the standard has been met.  We would ask for a $100 monthly reduction in rent to accommodate for the loss of  the garage use.  I have checked the Revdex.com website and was impressed with no complaints.  I would hope we can get this issue resolved in a timely manner or honor our request.  I have been around Real Estate issues all my life as my Grandfather is a Real Estate Broker in Jefferson City for over 50 years with many rental properties.   Last thing I would want to have to do is to file a complaint with the Missouri Real Estate Commission.  I hope this issue is resolved by November 1st.  Thank You.
