Ms. [redacted] arrived at the Royal 8 Inn on or about July 13, 2017, requesting a room for herself, her brother [redacted], and his two young children (around 3-5 years of age). his children. Manager [redacted] showed Ms. [redacted] the room prior to renting the room in her name. Manager [redacted] informed Ms. [redacted] the gasline behind the stove is turned off when the room is vacant and she would be more than happy to turn the stove on for her if she wanted. Ms. [redacted] informed Manager [redacted] that she did not want the stove on since the family preferred to eat out, but if she wanted to turn the stove on, she could turn the gas valve on herself. Since Ms. [redacted] requested a room for a week for four (4) people, with two (2) beds, and a kitchen, the rate of the room is $450.00/week. After Ms.[redacted] rented the room, management observed Ms. [redacted] drop off [redacted] and his two (2) children by the room and drive away; Ms. [redacted] never returned to the motel. From on or about July 13, 2017, to on or about July 20, 2017, Ms. [redacted] did not stay in the room she rented; only [redacted], and his two (2) children stayed in the room. The entire week, [redacted] did not approach management requesting the stove on nor did he complain about pests in his room. The motel is contracted with two (2) exterminator services ([redacted] and [redacted]), who provide the entire motel pest control treatment twice a month. If there were pests in the room, as stated by Ms. [redacted], then [redacted] would have came to management to voice his concerns; however, he never came down to the office or called management over. No one would stay an entire week with little children if there were pests in the room. When [redacted] vacated the room, he and his children left the room trashed (for example: dirty diapers thrown around the room, food under the bed, towels missing, and box springs torn for both beds). As for the price of the room, like many hotels/motels, our motel also bases its price on: length of stay, number of occupants, and amenities requested. For a customer, who is requesting to stay for a week (7 days), for four (4) occupants, with two (2) beds, and a kitchen (stove with an oven, a refrigerator with a freezer), the standard price is set at $450.00/week. In speaking to other tenants around the room Ms. [redacted] rented, the prices vary based on how long the tenants are staying, how many people are in the room, and what amenties have been requested. Ms. [redacted] was provided the accommodations she requested; management showed her the room prior to her renting the room. When management asked if she wanted the stove on, she refused.
