I booked online with Booktoday.com and really didn't realize that it was through Royal AmericanThe only thing is is that it was a unit at a resort that they only have one unit in, Splash by SterlingThe room was great and the resort is wonderful but I will NEVER book with Booktoday.com or Royal American againI booked this at 1am on Sunday morning for checkin that same dayIt was $and I specifically asked if it was for taxes and fees as wellBooktoday.com assured me that everything was goodIn my confirmation there was NO information about where to go for checkin or what to do, if anythingSo like a common person we go to Splash to check inThey know nothing about itAfter leaving Splash's front desk, I call RA and they know nothing of the reservation eitherI take my family to Pier Park because the kids are pretty anxious to do somethingMy husband takes them in and I sit out in the car for minutes on hold for booktoday.comAfter getting someone, she gives me different confirmations and itinerary numbers that ended up being no use to anyoneThis lady says she sent over the details to the company and that I should go back to SplashWhat happens? I get sent out of there because they have nothing on my reservation againI walk out of there in tears because this was a horrible experience and I felt like I was out $at this pointI call RA back and she then tells me she has the reservation this time...? So I drive all the way to the other side of the beach, after stopping at Pier Park to pick up my family that is wandering aimlesslyAs soon as I walk up to the counter of RA I get an immediate brush off from the guy at the counter and he sets a bill in front of me for $I was furious! I made sure to ask if the $on booktoday.com included everythingI choose to deal with this later because my kids were ready to get somewhere so I just pay the billI FINALLY have paperwork in my hand hours later but I just knew I would not be able to get into the room without something else going crazyWe are headed back to Splash and I reach the check in counter to hand them the paperwork so I can receive my bandsThey tell me I have to pay a $reservation fee? This is directly through Sterling so I paid it but she gave me a receipt and asked me to call RA because they were not supposed to charge it and they knew they weren't supposed to charge it because this is not the first time she has ran into it with themAnother lady behind the desk of Sterling found out I was dealing with RA and said she hated dealing with themThey even had a direct line for them hanging at their desk on a post it note because of all the problems they have with this companyI looked back at my receipt with RA for the $and sure enough...I paid the reservation feeSo, I pay Sterling so that I can try my room keyLuckily everything worked out as far as getting into the roomI call RA to ask about the $and she knew exactly what I was talking about so that tells me that it is most definitely not their first time charging this for no reasonShe refunds the $with no problemSo I start asking about the $they charged me at the front counter vswhat I paid booktoday.comThis lady explains to me that booktoday.com didn't know exactly what to pay RA's cleaners so they don't charge enough....? What kind of cop out is that? So, so far I have paid $for the room, $in takes and fees through booktoday.com and now $through RA for taxes and feesThese people bait you and what is so sad is I could have booked directly with Sterling for $I should have and will forever going forward book with the actual parent companies, not some second rate "getaway" company that baits you and rapes youWe live about hours away and so does all of my friends and familyWe love coming to Panama City but I will spread the word high and low about these crooks!
