Royal Bahama Cruise Line Reviews (10)

I received a call to do a survey in which I would receive a free cruise, now usually these are scams so I asked if I could get a call back on Friday when I get payed, and was guaranteed a call back by [redacted] , id [redacted] who said she checked with a supervisor, She was very helpful and friendlyI hooked at that point, but wanted to look into it more, so she put me back into the promotion, and I knowingly accepted with the chance that the spot may be filled before thenI did a little research and called the company back to receive a Corporate endorsed certification guarantee, I was then told that I had to sign up today and that they did not do call backs, the lady I talked to was being very rude and pushy so I asked to speak to a manager and was transferred after a very sarcastic "yes ma'am" I do not know the name of the second lady I talked to or the name of the supervisor who was also unprofessional and rude to meI was then informed again that they did not do call backs and was rudely pushed off the phone with a "have a nice day" when she hung upI am very upset and even though I had been planning to take a cruise with Royal Bahama Cruise Lines before I had even received this phone call I do not plan to EVER use this cruise line in the future

You're only told about the additional fees that you need to pay after you have already paid for the trip and told that there isn't a refundThese are not disclosed before you payYou also have to pay for the trip before making the reservationI haven't even taken this trip yet but it seems like I have to because I can't get a refund

Royal bahama cruise line is possibly the worst choice for a vacation planning company They LIE TO YOU!!! If you have the opportunity to to cancel your trip with them or not purchase one at all that would be a wise choice you will be charged for things they don't tell you about when they say all inclusive what they really mean is everything is paid for except...gratuity, taxes, fees, bus fares, drinks, anything you might want to do while you are there (other than sit on the sand), beach chairs, towels, etc...I specifically asked to have full disclosure of all the charges beforehand so I could pay for everything up front and the trip still cost me another $in extra charges don't be fooled into thinking that ounce you have paid for the cruise that everything is free!! it is not so we had to go to a time share talk which we where told would only last hours and it took hours we were told that most people have to spend more than that they are always rude and make you feel like a *** for not purchasing one of their time shares and you end up wasting half your day being asked over and over " what is it that is stopping you from purchasing a time share?" how about common sense!!! Bottom line is GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!!

I was contacted by Royal Bahamas Cruise Lines and decided to read up before forking over any money. I have to say that what I am reading that are considered to be "complaints" seem to be from petty people who have never cruised before or are just ignorant with respect to what one is to expect a cruise company to pay for. I have been on Carnival Cruises many times which is a very well known cruise company and have always had to pay extra for taxes, port charges, gratuities, SODA, and the all too obvious charges of transportation getting to and from the ports of call. Those are just extremely obvious common sense items that a $200 cruise shouldn't be expected to pay for! Any entertainment, food while aboard the cruise is most likely all included as is with ANY major cruise ship.

Seems to me the only thing this company has done wrong is market to a bunch of whiners and people who haven't ever cruised before.

I received a call on Jan 29, 2015 after completing a "survey". The survey did not give the name of the company but had "guaranteed a free cruise after completing the survey. It was a quick survey asking questions like, have you in the last year needed help with governmental aid, do you currently have health insurance, are you currently employed? After completing the survey I was asked to press one if I wanted the free cruise offer. There was no mention of who the company was. After I pressed one, I was hung up on. Hours later on that evening around 8 pm cst. I received a phone call. I was advised by the gentleman that if I was interested to get a pen and paper out as there would be a lot of information given to me. I was very skeptical and kept asking questions. I have previously been on cruises before and remembered how they work. I was told that for my state of Texas I was one of only ten selected for the "VIP" upgrade available. The representative was funny, but very pushy. He kept putting me on hold while he "looked into things to see what else he could get me." I was very uneasy about it all but stayed calm and positive during the phone call. Eventually after being on the phone with him for about 30 minutes he had his supervisor get on the phone. When I explained that I am teacher and did not have the funds to pay for the trip right now that very moment but I would be able to next month I was informed that they could not deny anyone for monetary reasons. After trying to get me to upgrade on several different occasions and trying to entice me even more, I explained I could not make that kind of payment today. I am a parent and my children come first, I could not afford to buy the "VIP", I could barely afford the tax fees alone. They tried to charge my card and it did not go through. The supervisor then requested I give him another card to try, and because I "tried" I would get the "VIP" upgrade to the ocean view state room with room service and our own personal attendant. Leery about this, I agreed reluctantly. I gave my debit card and as soon as it went through I was transferred to another person. This call was now being recorded for their purposes, He explained that to me that they were charging my card a total of $218 for the upgraded room. He then gave me my confirmation code requested my cell number and sent me a text. I had to respond on the text and then he sent me an email. He tried to immediately get off the phone with stating that I had just made my payment and accepted the terms. He asked if I had any questions and when I went to ask questions I was cut off in mid sentence and told thank you for your time and we look forward to you enjoying you cruise! I was able to stop him and confirm that is was not just the cruise I booked, but that I was guaranteed the 7 day car rental free of ALL charges, the 3 day 2 night stay at the hotel in Fort Lauderdale with breakfast, lunch and dinner complimentary, and the 3 day two night cruise in the upgraded suite with complimentary meals and exhibitions. He was extremely quick to respond, almost like he didn't want to as the conversation was being "recorded". I was advised that coffee and tea were the only drinks covered, that I would have to pay anything else I wanted. I am ok with paying for alcohol, but soda's? In this entire conversation I felt VERY uneasy and pushed into it. I was not given any option to wait or do a payment plan. I would have much gathered extended my stay at the resort, I was told there was a private island that had the private beach and was all inclusive if I extended my stay. I wanted that put was forced to settle as I did not have the monetary means at that exact moment. I am extremely nervous about going on this cruise, as I feel that if their customer service treated me this way to get the product, what will the cruise be like? Will I even have decent food to eat? Overall it was handled very poorly and I was pushed into a decision I was uncomfortable with, especially when I was transferred and then "recorded" when the man tried to end the call as quickly as possible once he got my information.

I went on this cruise 2 years ago and just purchased another package to go again this fall. I have read many reviews and just want to say, you get what you pay for. I listened very carefully, writing everything down they told me was/was not included and knew what to expect. We had a GREAT TIME! I booked last minute and got a "last minute" room, but that was my fault and they explained before hand what rooms were left for me. I'm not sure what people are expecting for the price, but I was very satisfied for the price I paid. If I wanted champagne, I would have paid more. I paid for warm beer and that is what I got and loved it! All the staff was very friendly and the food was ok. I didn't want to pay for extras, so I didn't order them. The boat is OLDER and not the best, but for 2 or 3 days, it was fine. I am looking forward to my trip in the fall!

I received a call this morning saying that I am eligible for a free cruise if I take an automated survey. The survey was simple (3 questions) and at the end I was prompted to "press 1" if interested in getting in contact with a travel agent about my free cruise. I pressed one and the automated call abruptly ended. (there was no reference as to what company this survey was from or for, and the name of the cruise line was not mentioned in the call either)

I tried calling the number back but all I got was the Customer Service Center from Verizon.

A few hours later I received a call from a Florida number and when I answered the caller hung up. I called the number back and was directed to a travel agent for this cruise line. She looked up my number and then started congratulating me on my free cruise. She quickly began describing all of the free amenities and that I would have such a great time. She then brought up that I would have to pay $59 for a government tax of some sort and that's when I told her that I wasn't sure about paying today. I told her I would want to do more research, to which she said she could email me an informational letter that we could go over together. We briefly went over the email but I was still skeptical. I asked if I could look into the details and call back later, to which she said that I would miss out on their promotional offer of a free cruise if I ended the call (which is ironic because I was the one who called them)

I think I was one of "those" customers so she transferred me to someone who maybe she thought was more convincing? Either way, this guy tried to talk me into paying the tax fee and let me know that they are accredited and have the license to prove it. I mentioned that I would want to look into the reviews and the guy quickly said that all companies are bound to have bad reviews... haha. I didn't like feeling pressured to make such a quick decision and the call finally came to end and he said he would keep me on the list for future promotions.

You shouldn't feel uncomfortable when paying for a service and this company did just that. I'm not sure if this company is a scam or not but from the reviews I wouldn't be surprised.

On 06/12/14 I got a call for a free cruise. All though everything did sound intersting I can't say I wasn't skeptical of the offer. I can understand stand having to get down to florida and pay for my own alcohol, gambling, port taxes and tips. However giving my credit card over the phone is not in the norm for me. After the representative by the name of "[redacted] sent me over what she called a certified corporate letter of guarantee I decided to go ahead and pay the port taxes. I recently came back from the vacation. I extended my time in the bahamas at the grand lucayan and also upgraded my cabin bc the inside cabin was not ideal for my husband and I. I have to say I was very surprised, we actually enjoyed ourselves. We thought that because of the deal we got and also not being familiar with the company that it wasn't going to be all that great but since my husband and I tend to make the best out of any situation I thought why not its a good price! I would definitely recommend it to anyone given the opportunity and im glad we took a chance on it. It was the best time we have had in a very long time!
