Royal Cakery

Review: We had a contract with The Royal Cakery to create our Groom's cake for our 4-12-14 wedding. This contract was signed 7/17/13. The price in the contract was $300 plus $27 tax plus $75 delivery fee. We paid a $500 deposit 7/17/13 (check #384) at the time were discussing The Royal Cakery to also create our Bridal Cake. We decided to only go with the Groom's Cake and The Royal Cakery updated the contract Balance Due $0. I personally spoke with [redacted] who expressed her concern with the remaining balance of the %500 deposit. I told her that we would be ok with them keeping the balance since she also expressed her concern with us not going forward with the Bridal Cake.On January 31, 2014 The Royal Cakery emailed us with a "Revised Contract" with the price scratched out and changed from $300 to $900. Our request description never changed.I spoke with [redacted] to find out why the price change and she explained that there was confusion of what we originally requested. I asked her if there was anything we can do about the price, and she said she would try to come down. This never happened.This, along with a series of very unfortunate and nerve-wrecking customer service problems, has pushed us to decide not to do business with The Royal Cakery even though this will leave us with no cake at all due to the timeliness.I have copies of the original and edited contracts with The Royal Cakery.We are demanding our $500 deposit back.Desired Settlement: We require our $500 deposit back from The Royal Cakery
