Hired this contractor to install a "Rain Escape Deck" system for my homeI own a walk-out ranch with a deck off the upper level and a patio below covered by the deckThe "Rain Escape System" provides for a dry environment on the lower patio by catching the rain and diverting it to a gutter so the entire lower patio would remain dry during inclement weatherThe construction of the new deck was begun in early September and substantially completed in late December at which time final payment was made (mistake)In March of 2016, it was determined that the upper deck had a number of leaks that needed to be fixedThrough spring, summer and fall of numerous attempts were made to contact the contractor, and promises were made by him to fix the leaksHe never didIn fact he only showed up once during that period and after he left, the deck still leakedFinally in October we hired a second contractor who had to completely remove all of the decking on top in order to test and fix the leaksThis cost us an additional $We attempted to collect this money from Royal Highlands Construction to no availIn December we attempted to resolve this issue through a Court Mediator and although a Stipulation was arrived and agreed to by both parties at the time, the Contractor never followed throughWe are continuing to try to resolve this issue through Small Claims Court and have received no response from the Contractor to any of our requests and most recently to a Court ordered appearanceLitigation is continuingPlease think long and hard before hiring this Contractor
