Review: Royal Mail and Parcel (RM&P) lost a package that I brought to them to send, which contained a handmade gift. My husband made bow-ties for my step father and brother, for Christmas. I brought the item in with plenty of time to have made it's way to it's destination before Christmas, but unfortunately RM&P printed out the wrong destination address and the item mailed out to the wrong place. Luck would have it that the person who ended up wrongly receiving my package was kind enough to mail it back to me, after Christmas. So when I received it I brought it back to RM&P to see how they wanted to correct the situation as they were not able to even find it when they sent it to the wrong place! They said they would mail it again, on their own dime. It never crossed my mind that it would get lost again, but IT DID! When I went back in after it didn't arrive at my intended destination a second time, the owner told me she would personally look in to what had happened this time. She asked me to give her a week and then told me she would call me herself with whatever she found out. That call never came. She told me that in January, I believe. It is now March and I finally found the time to go back in to the store to check on the situation, again. The woman working today new my situation and called the owner who told me that the package was basically lost forever and she could offer me $20 because it really wasn't their responsibility to do anything as it was actually the postal service who lost my package. My feeling is it was their wrong to make right as they initially lost the package in the beginning of this whole ordeal by putting the wrong address on it, which they admit. But then they pivot and say that this time it's not their fault, so they don't feel responsible. I feel like when you are trying to right a wrong you created then the resulting problems fall under your responsibility, too. I did not take the $20 reimbursement because I don't feel it covers the loss.Desired Settlement: I would like the owner to understand my position that because it was their fault that the package got lost initially, that it is their wrong to right so they should have made every attempt to make darn sure that the package got where it was going. It was already going to be too late for Christmas, because of them, why didn't they put a tracking number on it this time to make sure it wouldn't get lost again? I want them to pay for the shipping, materials it took to make the bowties and labor.
