Royal Oak Dental Group at Cornerstone Reviews (7)

I chose to drive 1/hours for dental implants at the Royal Oak Dental GroupEach time I am there, they are busy and they work extremely hardYou are seen promptly and [redacted] works very hard until he is satisfied with his workThis is my second time with implants, before with another Prosthodontist I had numerous issues, she tried to handle but got tired, and thought I should see someone elseThe drive is worth it, [redacted] in my opinion is Second to None !!

My initial reveiw on google was missing- so I am reposting here. I had a horrible experience with Royal Oak dental group and in particular with [redacted] who misdiagnosed my dying tooth where he had four visits to examine it. My tooth started dying in December of 2014, but because of [redacted] missed what was going on, I did not receive a root canal until March 2015. After every visit where I described the pain I was having, he had different theories on what was going on - teeth grinding (where I went through a needless procedure of shaving down my 7 year old cap), muscle spasms (prescribed muscle relaxers and ibuprofen), and his final theory was that I needed to see a neurologist about a condition called trigeminal neuralgia. Not until I pressed him for a neurologist referral did he decide to review my case more carefully. Then he reconsidered his diagnosis and decided my tooth was the problem. Finally, in March of 2015, I had an appointment with the endodontist. [redacted] the endodontist, explained what was going on with my tooth. [redacted] pointed to the x-ray of my tooth having a shadow around it, which was evidence that my tooth was dying. Also there were markers of inflammation in my gums seen in my x-ray. Not only did the x-rays show I needed a root canal, according to [redacted] there were many other clues along the way that my tooth was dying, including cold sensitivity, the fact that I could not tolerate drilling on the cap in December, my inability to get numbed indicating the inflammation was blocking the numbing shots and sudden onset of pain even at night. [redacted] also explained that when it comes to a molar, it isn't that unusual to have a week or two without any pain while your tooth is dying because a molar has many roots that can die at different times. By the time I got my root canal, I had gone through 2 ½ months of unnecessary pain and my tooth was dead. [redacted] left me thinking that I might have a terrible neurological problem for nearly two weeks. Trigeminal neuralgia is a very serious condition known as the suicide disease. Many times it is incurable and the only treatment - brain surgery doesn't always alleviate symptoms. It should not be said lightly to anyone. Luckily, it takes a few weeks to get into a neurologist so I did not get to the point where I wasted money on seeing a neurologist. I can understand why there are 30 plus five star Google reviews already out there for this practice -the people are nice, the hygienists are awesome [redacted] and [redacted]) and the office is attractive. Although [redacted] is well meaning person, he is very inexperienced dentist.

The Royal Oak Dentist Group is an outstanding company comprised of top notch professionals able to provide punctual, pain free, full service dental solutions. Their pleasant demeanor coupled with use of the latest technology and medical procedures makes family dental maintenance a breeze.
