Royal Spa of Monticello Reviews (3)

3-20-14 Our Royal spa Unlimited technician went to [redacted] residence to check for problems she was having with her Innova Spa. Our technician found that... the spa had no power coming into the spa unit. Following the wire back to the junction box our technician found the breaker box hanging loosely from the house with rusted and damaged buss bars. Slight movement of the breaker box allowed the spa to come on. Our technician then advised [redacted] that the problem was in the electrical and the breaker box and all components needed to be replaced. Our technician also informed [redacted] the spa was currently running but could not guarantee the spa would continue running. The electrical was the cause of the problem and would continue being a problem until replaced or repaired. 3/24/14 [redacted] called and stated that her electrician has fixed the electric but the spa again failed to operate and had only operated for a short time after our technician left. 3/25/14 We again sent a technician expecting a possible problem with the spa. The electrical problem as still present with no power present at the spa. A few wires had been tied together but generally all electric was found in nearly the same condition. [redacted] was again informed that the problem was with the electric feeding power to the spa and once rectified the spa would operate. 3/26/14 [redacted] came into store and paid the two charges totaling $100. For the two trip dispatch fees. She was angry and thought this should be covered under warranty. It was explained warranty could only be claimed if the problem was with the spa. The charges were only for dispatching a technician to her residence 45 minutes away and would barely cover gas and wages. No labor was charged on either call or a fee for diagnosing of problem. She said she would never call us or come in our store again and left screaming “there are other Royal Spas”. [redacted] called the store and asked that the technician call her electrician. We explained that he had left for the day and we could have him call the electrician in the morning. The electrician called the store and left 2 return numbers for our technician. Our technician returned the electrician’s call and explained the problem he had found. The electrician later spoke to our technician and informed our technician that he had now replaced all electric including the GFCI breaker. He confirmed what our technician had found and agreed that this was the obvious problem. The electrician told our technician that the breaker was bad and was only providing 110 volts to the spa not 220 volts as required by the spa. 3/27/14 [redacted] called Royal Spa Corporation in Indianapolis to complain about the charges and the failure of our company to repair her spa under warranty. Royal Spa Corp provided her contact information for an Innova Spa Representative concerning spa warranty. Both Royal Spa Corporation and the Innova Spa Rep contacted us concerning the problem. It was explained to both Royal Spa Corporation and Innova Spa Rep what our technician found on both trips. Royal Spa Corporation and the Innova Spa Rep contacted [redacted] and reiterated our advice and confirmed that electrical issues to the spa could not be covered by spa warranty. It was also explained that Royal spa Unlimited, Royal Spa Corporation, and Innova Spa are all separate companies and charges are controlled by each company independently. [redacted] made another call to the Innova Spa Representative stating that all electric had been replaced including a new GFCI breaker and the spa still failed to operate. 3/28/14 The Innova Spa Rep contacted us once again and we suggested the possibility of a neutral wire being placed on the buss bar and not in the back of the breaker as GFCI breakers require. The Innova spa Rep contacted [redacted] and asked that this be checked. The Innova Spa Rep once again called and stated that [redacted] said the electrical was correct and the spa still didn’t run. [redacted] was demanding that the spa be fixed and it was not an electrical problem and never had been an electrical problem. The Innova Spa Rep asked us to check the spa again to determine the problem. He stated that [redacted] said she had called our store for service but we wouldn’t return her messages. We informed the Innova spa Rep the only contact we received after her visit to pay the first two charges was through Royal Spa Corporation or his self. 4/1/14 Our technician once again made the trip to [redacted] residence due to [redacted] request through the Innova Spa Rep. Our technician started the spa and it immediately kicked the breaker. He then checked the breaker and found the neutral was on the buss bar and not in the back of the breaker. Our technician changed these wires and the spa was able to operate. Once again the problem was not a Warranty Issue with the Spa but an electrical problem. Warranty cannot be charged and is not paid for electrical issues due to faulty or bad wiring to the spa. Once again we billed [redacted] a $50. Trip dispatch fee which has not been paid. The $50. Charge is customary each time a vehicle and technician is dispatched on a repair service. The $50. Trip dispatch fee has been charged by our company since 2008. We made this trip and both previous trips and found electrical problems each time with no fault found in the spa. We could not bill Innova Spa for a warranty charge on the spa since the spa would be and was operational upon repair of all electrical issues. The Innova Spa is a less expensive spa than a Royal Spa. The Royal Spa is our main spa featured in the store but we carry the Innova Spa and South Pacific Models for customers choosing to spend less or who have the need for 110V/220V convertible models. These spas are exclusively sold and serviced by many Royal Spa Dealers. [redacted] was shown several spas in different price ranges. The Innova Spa was chose by [redacted] and brochures were given to [redacted] with the Innova Spa description and clear identification of the spa manufacturer. Enclosed is the Innova Spa Warranty & Brochure Enclosed is a copy of Owner’s Manual including electrical requirements included with all purchases of Innova Spas Enclosed are all invoices billed to [redacted] Thank you, [redacted] Royal Spa Unlimited Frontage Road Suite 2 Lafayette, IN 47905 Phone: 765-446 [redacted] Fax: 765-447-7375 E-Mail: [redacted] @hotmail.com

Unfortunately, my experience with Royal Spa Lafayette was not positive There was a miscommunication that could have been resolved amicably but the owner chose not to do so I would not recommend Royal Spa for providing customer friendly service In fact, I could not even talk with the owner
