[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response If you wish, you may update it before sending it.] Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me However, most of the information stated in the response from [redacted] and ETEReman was not disclosed to me before 10/23/Per my conversations with the mechanic at [redacted] transmission in August (not as mentioned in the response from ***), I was told that there were no issues with my car that would have any effect on the transmissionI originally went to [redacted] Transmission for the second installation due to the fact that I thought the first one was done wrongThey made no comment on the first oneWhen I returned again to [redacted] Transmission for the third issue, I informed them that there was something wrong with car causing the transmissions to go badMy exact words were "the car is the common denominator There is no way that they sent me two bad transmissions in a row"The owner of [redacted] Transmissions looked at the car and assured me that there was nothing wrong with the car and it was impossible for anything to cause an issue with the transmissionHe proceeded to tell me that he has dealt with ETEReman in the past and it is for them to get bad parts and rebuild transmissions without the proper testingHe assured me that the transmissions they sent me had existing problems before it was ever installedOtherwise, I would never have kept arguing my point and file this complaint in the first place. When [redacted] said he spoke to them at [redacted] Transmission, I was appalled that what he said they told him and what they told me were two completely different storiesIf [redacted] Transmission had told me there were issues with the car in the first place, I would not have continued to pour money into the carI told [redacted] Transmission that I no longer wanted the car and was going to buy a new one and the insisted that there was no need for that because the car was fine and it was just a bad transmissionAgain, I wanted this to be over a long time agoThe owner at [redacted] Transmission even cut me a deal on the second installation that they did (the third for the car) because they said ETEReman was treating me very poorlyThe owner's exact words were "since they sold you bad product and won't do anything for you, we'll take car of you and give you a break"If the car was so terrible and he knew that, why would he do that? He lost money on me so this does him no benefitAnd the new parts that [redacted] Transmission said they installed, my husband installed thoseI bought those parts from Autozone and I have the receipts to prove itIt was installed by a different mechanicIf [redacted] Transmission said they put in new parts, they either lied to [redacted] or lied to me because they told me that they did not install those partsI've spoken with several different people at [redacted] Transmission and got to know them really wellI was never there alone so I even have witnesses to back up what they saidI was there several different timesSometimes with my husband, sometimes with my son, and sometimes with my other son who primarily drove the car in questionSo basically, someone, somewhere, has lied to me considering I have two completely different stories on the same issueAll I know is that the car drove for about months with no problems until the transmission went outThen it would not last hours after each transmissionA certified mechanic, who works on wheelers, installed the first one(My husband used to be a mechanic also but did not do the installation but did look over it after it was completed) [redacted] Transmission installed two more and insisted to me over and over that the car was perfect and it was faulty product that was sold to meI even wanted to cancel the third installation and just stop with everything but [redacted] Transmission told me not toBut, all I wanted in the first place was a refund of the second installation to pay for the thirdThat's all I asked for and was treated very poorly by the companySince the third was reduced, [redacted] Transmission covered half of it and ETEReman is reimbursing me for the remaining portionI am fine with that as it was all I wantedBut I'm not happy about how things went down and there's nothing that can be done about that nowI just feel really betrayed and I think it's from both ETEReman and [redacted] Transmission Regards, [redacted]

October 25, 2017This response is to a letter filed with the Revdex.com by [redacted] regarding a transmission purchased at AUTOZONE in Georgia. Case #[redacted]. ETEreman, a subsidiary of Engine and Transmission Exchange, Inc. (ETE) based in Milwaukee,...

WI remanufactures transmissions under contract for Autozone Auto parts. Autozone's warranty is attached.  The warranty provides a labor allowance of up to $50.00 per hour if the transmission is installed by a certified automotive technician at a licensed repair facility.   The warranty is paid after a failure analysis is completed to determine the reason for failure.  [redacted] purchased a transmission from Autozone August 2, 2007 and had a friend install the transmission.  Shortly after the installation there was a problem with the transmission. Ms. [redacted] called ETEreman and was told that a replacement transmission would be sent and she understood there would be no labor allowance. A replacement was sent and Ms. [redacted] had that unit installed at a transmission shop called [redacted] Transmissions in [redacted] Georgia on 8/29/2017 at mileage 143,275. A few weeks after that installation ETEreman received the original transmission back for analysis.  That transmission had a failure due to debris left inside the old transmission lines and cooler from an improper installation also that the transmission fluids were overheated and discolored.  On October 25, 2017 [redacted], VP or Retail Centers for ETE called and spoke to [redacted] and Service Person [redacted] at [redacted] Transmissions regarding the original installation of the transmission.  [redacted] stated that the original installation was "poor and ugly", ground straps were missing, bolts were missing and rounded off, and items were left loose. On 9/15/2017 Ms. [redacted] returned her vehicle to [redacted] Transmissions for a condition of no reverse.  The [redacted] Transmission work order also lists problems with gear ratio errors and Oxygen sensor issues. There was also a note of transmission overtemp. A 2nd replacement transmission was sent to [redacted] under warranty.  When [redacted] from ETE spoke to [redacted] at [redacted] stated that he believed [redacted] installed an additional transmission cooler at no cost and that he explained to Ms. [redacted] that the vehicle seemed to have a problem with the brakes locking up and an electrical issue with the oxygen sensor that was showing a trouble code even though it looked new and was replaced.  Upon further investigation CARFAX had shown that this vehicle had transmission problems at the auction just prior to being sold to Ms. [redacted].  ETE understands the hardship that Ms. [redacted] has undergone regarding the reliability of her vehicle. Even though the problems seem to be electrical or brake issues causing the transmission issues ETE agrees to pay the amount of $350.00. The amount Ms. [redacted] paid to [redacted] for the 2nd installation labor. Ms. [redacted] signed and agreed a satisfactory settlement (attached also). Sincerely, [redacted]Engine and Transmisson Exchange, Inc.
