In response to this complaint....we had TWO separate contracts for this property.  One contract was for her living space which included a bedroom, master bedroom, sitting room, master bathroom, and a toilet area for $1465.00 in which was done and paid for April 24, 2014.  The second...

contract was for her mother who lived down in the basement area for two bedrooms, stairway down, and a living room.  We started the second contract on April 29, 2014 at which time there was no complaints regarding the upstairs work which was paid for.  The complaints came after we completed the second contract on May 2, 2014.  In regards to the number of men, we don't send more than two men to any job because it causes too much confusion.  We try to keep the same men on the job at all times to avoid confusion as well but this is out of our control if men don't come to work the next day for personal reasons.  We couldn't move fast on this job because [redacted] wanted to supervise and control every move making it difficult to complete.  We honored her wishes even if it took us longer to complete which in turn effects our profit.  We also sent the man [redacted] loved, [redacted], which later after the second job was complete she complained about.
In regards to not returning, we have call numerous times asking how the job was, can we return, what do you need done, sent letters, and invoices because we completed one contract on this job and now we were trying to complete the second portion of the job.  Mind you, that we have not collected any deposit or monies of any sort for the $990 contract in which we were working on.  Most of the time our calls would fall on deaf ears.  We did schedule return visit for the  May 30, 2014 and completed the items listed to touch up or fix in both the upstairs and downstairs (both contracts).  After completing this work that day, she said she was going to send the check for $990.00.  We again tried to reach her after this and nothing.  Last week, July 7, 2014, she emailed me to tell us that she would send what she thought was fair and a letter as well.  As of today, July 15, 2014, no money...no letter.  Instead....she decides to send a letter in Revdex.com in hopes to ruin our reputation.
In regards to the watch....this is the first time the office is hearing about it.  I'm sorry if she feels we are responsible for the missing watch but we have never had anyone in our company steal anything from our jobs.
Finally....regarding settlement...we will accept the $500.00 as a full payment to close this matter.  We do not feel as if we haven't completed the work or that we couldn't have completed the last little bit, but this just saves us both the aggravation regarding this job.
Please submit the payment of $500 and we will close this case immediately.
Thank you and best wishes with your projects!

In response to [redacted]’s complaint…A previous job we had to finish up took longer on Saturday morning than expected. Richie, a painter from Roy’s Painting, called her to let her know that we will be there but it won’t be until 10:30 or 11am because of the work he had to complete prior to...

coming to her job site. [redacted] was a little upset and was requesting a discount at the time the painter can’t make decisions on. He instructed her to call the office but on Saturdays the office is not staffed the entire day, so she was unable to speak with anyone. Richie was not given authority to go to the job because the matter of the discount would have to be discussed with the office staff on Monday, so Ritchie didn’t go to [redacted]’s job site. We are sorry that [redacted] felt we were wrong in our process, but if there are any changes on the contracts it needs to be dealt with during office hours Monday thru Friday 9am to 3pm with the office staff. We realize that this was an inconvenience for [redacted], so we are willing to offer her a $25 discount making the existing estimate $200 if she would like the work done. We always try to please our customers but it’s not always possible to be at jobs on exact times when things happen out of our control. If this case, we had to finish up previous work which in turn created a later start time. We appreciate your time and understanding in this matter.

Review: We contracted with Roy's Painting in April to repair and paint 4 bedrooms, 1 master bathroom and living room and stairway. Job was estimated 2 days to complete 2 bedrooms, 2 sitting areas and 1 master bathroom. It took them over 2 weeks to complete. They initially agreed to send 5 painters to do top level of home and to complete in 2 days. First day they sent 2 men and under estimated how much paint they would need so I need to run out and get more paint. The job was so shoddy. Roller and goober marks throughout the walls and ceiling. They even missed trim areas. Thereafter, only 1 man showed up to do job and not always the same person. They would drop off the painter and come back pick up at the end of the day. They promised to complete the bathroom before starting the basement bedrooms and living room. Did not happen. Had supervisor come out and promise to come back and fix and make it right. The night before they were to come back, supervisor called and confirmed that he would be coming next day to fix problems. Next day they called to say they were running late by an hour. When the painter showed-up, it was not the supervisor but instead a young inexperienced painter that had no idea what needed to be done. He attempted to fix the areas but informed us that he didn't have experience or the materials to fix the walls. He had the wrong color of white trim paint to fix the trim that was overlooked. Also, when he repainted the bathroom ceiling he had only flat paint, not gloss paint. We now have to repaint the bathroom ceilings. We attempted several times for Roy's Painting to come back and fix the problems with no success. We also had an incident of a missing watch. The supervisor informed me that it was possible that it fell off my dresser and into the drop cloth. He would check with the other painters to see if they mistakenly removed my watch from our home. He promised to get back to us. As of today, we never heard back from supervisor or Roy's Painting regarding this issue.Desired Settlement: The balance due to Roy's Painting is $990.00. Total of job to include all rooms was $2,455.00. In order to resolve this situation so we can hire and fix these problems, we are requiring Roy's Painting to accept payment of $500.00. We will not pay another dime to a company that refuses to respond or standby their work. We've written a letter to the owner of Roy's Painting outlining our decision. I have a copy and can send to Revdex.com for further clarification of our complaint.

Review: On 8/20/2014 I made an appointment with Roy's Painting Company to have an estimate for work scheduled. On 8/23/2014 Wayne P[redacted] of Roy's Painting Company came to my residence to provide me with a estimate for a small painting job. I received a quote from him for $225.00 for labor, I was to supply the paint. During the estimate process Wayne indicated that my appointment time would be between 8:30 and 9:00am on 9/6/2014. I requested an early appointment due to other commitments the afternoon/early evening of 9/6/2014. Wayne indicated that an early appointment would be no problem. I received a formal contract, which I reviewed, signed and emailed to Roy's Painting Company on 9/3/2014. On 9/3/2014 I received a verification email from Ginger B[redacted] representing Roy's Painting Company which confirmed the 8:30 to 9:00am arrival time of their painting crew.

On 9/6/2014 at 9:09 am I received a call from Rick/Rich (###-###-####). He stated that he was going to arrive between 10:30 and 11:00am. I restated to him the agreed upon arrival time was between 8:30 to 9:00am. He responded that he did not make the schedule. I told him that this was unacceptable, I planned my day according to the agreed upon arrival time. I felt I was being extremely inconvenienced and would have to cancel my afternoon/early evening commitment that Wayne was informed of during the estimate process and I felt that there should be an adjustment to the bill due to that inconvenience. I asked who I needed to speak with about an adjustment. He told me to call the office and speak to someone there. I told Rick/Rich that I still wanted the work performed and I was going to cancel my commitment for that afternoon/early evening and for him to arrive to complete the work at his newly stated time of between 10:30 and 11:00am. At 9:11am I called ###-###-#### and was directed to voice-mail. I left a message requesting for someone to call me back as soon as possible about the situation. At 9:14 I called Rick/Rick to inform him that my call went to voice-mail, he indicated that no one worked on the weekends, but sometimes the owner Roy was there. I asked if he could get in touch with the owner to see if something could be done about the situation. he indicated that he would try.

At 11:42am no representative of Roy's Painting Company had arrived at my residence to complete the painting work and I had not received a call from anyone from Roy's Painting Company. At that time I called Rick/Rich to inquire when was he going to arrive. He answered the phone rudely and told me that when he spoke with his boss the boss had told him to cancel the job. No one from Roy's Painting Company contacted me to speak with me or to notify me that the work was being cancelled.Desired Settlement: I would like a letter of apology from Roy's Painting Company and would like them to have their "A" rating with the Revdex.com removed. They are clearly not an "A" rated company and have no respect for the value of their customers, or their customers time, and they do not honor their contractual agreements.
