Told me my oil pump was working when it was not. Said I needed another motor.Brought truck in for low oil pressure problems. They dropped oil pan, cleaned it out and said oil pump was working. Charged me $800. Called me to come get vehicle it was ready. I came, paid them and got my vehicle. 1 mile down the road the oil pressure fell again. I called them and they then informed me that I needed a motor. I asked a second time why they didn't go ahead and change the oil pump and they said that wasn't the problem. I complained about paying $800 for nothing and they gave me $100 back and made me an offer on a motor. I took the truck to two other shops and both said it was the oil pump and not the motor. I had to repay to get the oil pump changed. RP auto never tested my oil pump. Just because it comes on doesn't mean it was pumping the right pressure. I feel like they owe me my money back for doing absolutely nothing to my truck.Desired SettlementI wouldn't ever let them work on any of my vehicles again. The $ amount he paid was not just for checking oil pressure. We also replaced right front wheel hub and bearing assembly. The cost for that was $289.00. He stated that after motor got warm, the oil pressure would drop down. We did perform an oil pressure check with a separate gauge. The reading was within specifications. He was informed that his oil pump was working properly. We informed him that there may be debris on the oil pick up tube being that the vehicle had 231,680 miles on it. We quoted the price for removing the oil pan to verify any blockage. With oil pressure in specifications and only a small amount of debris on pick up tube it was determined that the connecting rod bearings were worn not allowing oil pressure to get to top of engine. Mr. [redacted] has never contacted me or informed me that he was unhappy with the work performed on his vehicle. We pride ourselves on doing the correct job for our customers and solving any complaints. If Mr. [redacted] would provide me with the receipt showing that his vehicle is fixed and the oil pump is changed, I will be willing to work with him on the charge related to dropping the oil pan and checking the pick up tube. Our shop was destroyed from the tornado on 12/23/2015. He and his mechanic knew there was a problem because we argued and he refunded me $100. They told me it wasn't the oil pump but the motor (worn camshaft bearings?) And gave me a price on a motor. They were contacted by me the very next day after pick up (they were closed at pick up time) because the oil pressure fell about a mile from the shop. I do have my repair receipt where I had to repay for the oil pan to be dropped and where the pump was replaced and now my truck runs fine and my motor is fine. Final Business Response As I stated in my first response, if the customer will bring me a copy of her receipt of the repairs that she had done somewhere else I will be willing to make an adjustment to her bill and refund some of her money. My shop was destroyed by the tornado on 12/23/2015. I will re open on 03/01/2016 or she can come to our other location in New Albany or call XXX-XXX-XXXX.
