RPM Manufacturing & Racing Services Reviews (12)

A motorcycle crank & parts were sent as well as a money order to provide services. Services were never performed & parts were never returned.A crank rod, bearings, pins, pistons, crank ends, piston rings, piston pins & piston clips were sent at requested on manufacturer's website. A money order was sent after confirmation was received that parts had been received for service. After a few months I started inquiring as to the status of my crank work. I had spoke to someone and was told they had to send the crank out to [redacted] for service and would check into it. In follow up phone calls I was told the crank was there at RPM and they'd be sending it to me very shortly. Sometimes when I would call there would not be anyone to answer and other times they would have excuses as "family emergency" as to what was causing the delays. I had my [redacted], [redacted] follow up with e-mails to no response either. The date the money order was send was 1-9-14, #XXXXXXXX, in the amount of $550.00.Desired SettlementI would like all the money I sent to be refunded and the crank and all the miscellaneous parts I sent returned to me. I should also be entitled to some additional compensation for all the lost time I have spent trying to get what I paid for many months ago, let alone and entire race season has been lost.Business Response [redacted]'s job has been completed for over 8 weeks, and was suppose to have been drop shipped directly to [redacted]'s address from the service we used to alter the stroke, assemble & balance his parts.I will call our crank service and find out what the issue is if any and take care of it.If [redacted] left a message, I have to apologize for not getting it. I'm short handed and with our heavy work load, we are way behind on our deliveries so I've been working long hours in the shop every day. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)This is not acceptable. We have been told this same story before and a few months ago when [redacted] called, he was told that it had been received back from the crank service but not shipped yet because of the heavy work load and being behind on deliveries. Its just a run around. Exacly who has the crank, when will it be completed and shipped? All that is needed is the hot rod crank that was sent to RPM and for the work to be completed on it was that was agreed upon.Final Business Response In my last comment, I stated that [redacted] should receive his Crankshaft back in 6-7 days after I cleared up money owed to the crank shop from earlier jobs. After paying the invoice, I received a 2nd invoice for my jobs that are currently going threw their stroking process, and of course I had to pay on. Again I apologize for being so late. I will need a shipping address, emailed to me on where to send your crank to. Once it arrives, I will send it overnight with signature required at delivery. I will give the tracking number when I ship your package.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)This is not a resolution, it is another excuse. In RPM's reply dated 10-17-14 it stated "The job was held up because I had a large bill to clear up before anything else can ship out. I took care of the bill. Crank was done." This statement means the bill was paid, obviously this is not the case because we still do not have the crank. Clearly RPM is lying to us as well as the Revdex.com and can not be trusted. The address to ship the crank to is [redacted] XXXXX. There will be someone there to sign for it 6 days a week. What other action is the Revdex.com recommending be taken? RPM has had the crank going on a year and our money for 11 months, this is getting real old and there's no guarantee it will ever show up or if one does, it will be the hot rod crank that was sent in.The crank arrived yesterday afternoon. Thank you for all your assistance.

Website says 4-6weeks to have your parts worked on and returned to you. It's now been almost 5 months, I still have not received my motorcycle parts back (that are worth $1,000 themselves)...plus, I sent a $920 check to pay for the work that I wanted done to my parts that they made sure they cashed within just a couple days of receiving it with the parts. Left numerous messages on their voicemail wanting to know why it's took so long, and just keep hearing one crazy excuse after another. The work I PAID to have done should only have taken 6 weeks AT THE MOST! Here it's been 5 months, I'm $920 in the hole for the work that was suppose to be done, plus another $1,000 to replace my parts if I can't get help from the Revdex.com to get them back, and... I STILL have NOT received my motorcycle parts as of yet!!! 5 months is ridiculous! You could build a dirt bike from scratch in that length of time!!!Product_Or_Service: Performance work to Cylindar & Head on [redacted]Desired SettlementI think this calls for a refund AND a replacement...meaning, I want my parts back, and if they have not performed the work that I PAID for them to do to them, then I want my $920 back too!Business Response RPM has built several custom big bore kits for customers that ranged from 2 months to 8 months. 4-6 weeks is the minimum with the lead time greatly affected by our work load which is stated on our website, on the same page the 4-6 weeks is located. As is the case here, these big bore kits are custom made that require machining and sometimes special parts are ordered to make the customers assembly job go smooth, and if any parts needed are not available right away, we have to wait for them to become available before proceeding. Our work load goes out to November, and we are completing them as quickly as we can. This job in question is near completion and will be shipping to the customer within 2 weeks or less.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I do not accept their response because like I said, we have received many different excuses as to why it's taken 5 months to do a (less than) a 2 month job!!! We gave them the benefit of the doubt countless times and still have not gotten my parts back! I do not want this case closed until I receive my parts in my hand, and I make sure that the work is completed on them that I paid to be done! Thank you!Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)As you can see, in the business' response from August 5th, he said the parts would be shipped out to us in 2 weeks or less...now on August 19th, his response says we'll get our parts when they're ready to be shipped...see, he always changes what he says! He told us many times in the last 5 months that there's only this left to be done, or that left to be done and then they'll be ready to be shipped out to us! It's not my problem that he's the only one in the shop! If he can't handle the work, why keep it open??? And if it takes you 6 months to do one job (a 6 week at the most job), then how could you possibly stay in business period!?! And he keeps saying that it's a job that could take up to 8 months to complete (on our parts)...well that's [redacted]! There are other businesses in the U.S. that does this same work, and it only took them 5 to 6 weeks to complete the work and get the parts shipped back to the customer. How do we know this?...we have tons of friends that have sent parts to these other businesses for the same work that RPM is 'suppose' to have done to ours. And like I said, it took only 5 to 6 weeks for them...not 5 to 6 months!!!Final Business Response Hi [redacted],The Customers package shipped by [redacted] overnight, delivery by approximately 10:00 AM and will need to be signed for.Shipped to address: [redacted] XXXXXTracking # XXXX XXXX XXXX Thanks, [redacted]

In 9/7/2011 I shipped a complete KTM motorcycle engine and many related parts and paid over $1000 for engine service. He still has my engine. In 9/7/2011 I shipped a complete KTM 380 motorcycle engine, Mikuni carburetor and many related parts for a total engine rebuild and installation of a 410 big bore kit which I also supplied and shipped to [redacted]. We agreed that it was going to be a minimum of 8 months or even longer to complete. I paid him with a $500 postal money order to start and then later in May of 2012 I sent an additional money order for $516.65 per a billing invoice that [redacted] emailed to me. My total payments now equaling $1016.65. This last payment was supposed to essentially bring the project to completion. On 5/5/12 [redacted] emailed me that he received my payment and was ordering final parts. On 12/6/12 [redacted] emailed me that my engine was on the bench and ready for final assembly. This was the last email I ever received from him and he has never called me. Up to this this point [redacted] responded to emails and phone calls but always had a reason why he couldn't return my engine to me. One time it was because he had to go to Florida for a few months. Then he had other customers that couldn't wait. Then more vague excuses. Eventually he stopped answering the phone and did not return phone messages. Then the answering machine was removed from his phone. He stopped responding to emails and my then my emails were returned to me because [redacted]'s email box was full. I continued calling for many months and finally one morning in October 2014 he answered the phone. He said his "computer had crashed" and he lost all his records. Then he gave me a new email address to use. The new email address was fake every email I have sent to it is returned as undeliverable. Many more months went by and then he answered the phone again. I questioned him on giving me a bad email and he denied it but I had it correctly and it has never worked. He said my engine was "almost ready" I told him that I had looked at his Facebook page and he had posted a picture of my completed engine on Facebook in March 2012. He swore that it wasn't my engine and that it belonged to another customer. I asked him to send me the engine "as is" uncompleted with all my parts and carburetor. He refused to do that and said he was going to finish it. He said he had surgery scheduled in a few weeks and to call back in 30 days and he would be ready to ship my engine. He never answered the phone and now two months later I can't contact him. He never answers the phone and emails to his original email address go unanswered. He has had my engine for three years and four months and $1016.65 of my money and I have nothing.Desired SettlementI want my KTM 380 engine, Mikuni carburetor, 410 Big Bore Kit and ALL the related parts both that I sent to [redacted] and ALL the parts that he purchased with my $1016.65 payment returned to me as soon as possible. If the engine rebuild is not complete I want that portion of labor that I have paid for to be refunded as well.Business Response I talked to [redacted] on 1/26 and discussed what was left to do to his engine. I felt that I could finish it in 10-14 business days, that would put the completion by 2/14. [redacted] was okay with this arrangement.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I will wait and reserve my response until I have received my engine back. I don't intend to be negative but I have had completion of this work promised in the past without results and I do hope that this time it will be completed. I will update Revdex.com with more information in the near future.
