Review: Had SUV repaired replacing the transmission. Gave me a verbal warranty of 2 months on transmission. Had the same problem with transmission within 40 days, took vehicle back, they claimed problem was with part which is not covered. Warranty is for performance of transmission, so they charged me for work and at that time told me (slip of tongue) the transmission was from the junk yard. I felt for what they charged me for the transmission they should have told me they were getting the transmission from the junk yard. My SUV is still having transmission problems.Desired Settlement: My desired settlement would be a full refund. I will work with them for a replacement of the transmission, at their expense.

Business

Response:

Revdex.com called business to follow up on complaint and spoke to [redacted], who responded verbally. He said that they do not warrant used transmissions. He said consumer hit a rock and damaged it, resulting in a leak. He also said he did the work at cost for $30 and did not charge labor or storage for leaving the vehicle for 5 days.

Consumer

Response:

Mr. [redacted] is incorrect. I did not hit a rock, he has no proof I hit a rock and the pan that they replaced was checked and it is leaking still. But the main issue is the Mr. [redacted] put a junk yard transmission into my car and did not inform me I was paying such a high cost for a junk yard transmission. The replacement is not even rebuilt. Mr. [redacted] charged me half this price for the same work one year ago. My auto is still having trouble. Mr. [redacted] should return my funds, not only because the problem still persist but he failed to inform me where he was getting the parts for the price I paid him.

Regards,

C Bolden

Consumer

Response:

You are correct. It does come down to my word against Mr. [redacted]. I have nothing to prove as a consumer, it is not acceptable for a business (auto repair shop) to put junk yard parts in your vehicle without informing them. If the Revdex.com see no wrong in a practice like that; I, as a consumer should turn the other cheek. I am at the mercy of Mr [redacted]. I can not afford to take my vehicle to another shop at this time to get a new transmission. A mechanic did inspect my vehicle to verify my transmission is slipping, but I can not afford a full inspection. I have nothing for you but fact, Mr [redacted] put a transmission in my vehicle that came straight from the junk yard and did not tell me but charged me the cost of a rebuilt; fact, one year ago he put a transmission in this same vehicle and charged half the price; fact, I will never go to R & R Auto nor will I have any good words on their service. I am sorry your office can not help me, thank you for listening. If I am able to afford the work on my vehicle at a later time, can I get any support from your office or is there an expiration period on complaints?

The auto garage at R&R repaired my vehicle for a fraction of the cost that another garage had estimated, in part because R&R did not insist on unnecessary repairs. On top of that, [redacted] seems like a genuinely nice guy. If another garage makes an estimate you cannot afford, go to R&R for a second opinion.
