RR Dentistry

Mr*** was seen yesterday for a regular recare appointment. He had his last visit with us on 3/30/2017. At that visit it was communicated to him he had chosen to not have xrays in years and there is concern about his health. At times things come up with bone and underlying
support structures which are unable to be assessed without the use of radiographs. At his last visit (3/30/2017) he was made aware of the diagnostic limitations he has placing on us by refusing to have any radiographic images taken. He agreed at that time to have a panoramic radiograph taken at his next visit which was yesterday. When he showed up for his recare visit yesterday he again refused radiographs after stating at his last visit he would have one taken. Being proactive and preventative is very important for overall health. We strive to provide all of our patients with the very best diagnostic and preventative care. Waiting for symptoms to develop is not how we have choosen to treat our patients. Mr*** feels differently, that x-rays are necessary when pain and symptoms arise, and he was invited to find a dentist who shares his beliefs more closelyI have all records to back up and support all which is reported here. The clinical note from his last visit 3/30/also states he was made aware and agreed to have the panoramic radiograph taken. This policy of having periodic xrays taken to verify health is not one limited to RR Dentistry. It is and industry standard to have a panoramic xray every years and bitewing radiographs which show the teeth every year. Mr*** has refused xrays for years.
