To Whom It May Concern,

We are writing to you, the Revdex.com, regarding a Revdex.com Accredited Business that we are concerned with. Our hope is that you can help us come to a resolution with Mr. R *** from RR Tree Company. On June 11th, R ***, owner of RR Tree Company and two team members came to remove a large Douglas fir from our backyard. The tree was close to a fence line and a flagstone patio. Upon completion of the work I noticed two of the flagstones by the tree were shattered. When I asked Mr. what happened, he said that a couple of logs had fallen on them. I quote, “If you want an omelet, you have to break a couple of eggs, right?” At the time, I didn’t think it would be that impactful as a homeowner, however later in the week, one of my daughters tripped on the flagstone that was protruding as a result of the logs falling on them. On closer inspection, I noticed there were in fact four stones that were cracked and/or shattered. A week later my husband and I noticed a decorative wrought iron gate also bent and cracked due to logs falling on it.

On August 8th I reached out to Mr. to inform him that I was having reservations about the flagstone and that I wanted him to make it right. I asked to resolve the issue through his insurance company; however he said that he’d prefer to work it out between us. I offered to send him a quote to which he agreed.

On August 19th, I sent him a quote from Sulli’s Landscaping for the amount of $750 to repair the four flagstones. He asked if the flagstone was for the whole patio or just one piece. I informed him that it was several pieces that would need to be removed, re-cut and re-graded. I suggested that he send a landscaping company to give us a quote, however I did not receive a response. After several days of text messaging I followed up with Mr.. He said he would give me $125 as his “final offer”. I communicated that was unreasonable and unfair and told him that I would contact the Revdex.com.

On the day we broke the one flagstone right under the tree, we told her about it, she said to not worry about it because it was already damaged from before. I have a witness. She also did not contact me untiil TWO MONTHS after the work was complete, and was demanding our companies insurance information. I asked her to get a quote for the piece we broke when the log fell onto it. She came back and said we had broken four pieces, costing a total of seven hundred dollars, when I asked if it was for one piece or the whole patio she told me it was for four pieces that we broke, and that the whole patio would cost 3k. Well, I asked a mason friend of mine how much it would cost for the one piece, he informed me that it was no more that $125.00, and that Mrs. Orrin sounded like she wanted my insurance company to pay for a whole new PATIO! I have a 24 hour damage policy, if you don't let us know about the problem within a day, we can't do anything about it, how do I know that those other 3 pieces were actually damaged by us? There is no way to tell! I told my attorney about the situation, and gave Mrs. Orrin his contact information. I do not believe she has contacted him. Thanks!

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because of the nonfactual information Mr. shared. I'm providing screen shots of our conversation that took place in writing regarding the replacement of the flagstone.

The original patio that Sulli's Landscaping did in July of 2013 cost $3240 for 216 square feet. Mr. damaged four flagstones in the patio. Sulli's Landscaping quoted me $750 to replace and regrade those four pieces. At no time did I ever say that Mr. damaged the whole patio and I certainly did not say that someone else damaged the pieces because that is not true. He damaged the pieces and the wrought iron gate due to his reckless and careless work.

I'm also providing a copy of his estimate. No where in the estimate does it state that damage needs to be reported within 24 hours. Mr. was initially responsive to my concern, however he did not follow through with having one of his contacts come take a look at the broken pieces.

I'm not terribly concerned about the wrought iron gate but I am concerned about the two pieces that Mr. damaged. I have a six and an eight year old that can easily hurt themselves when they play in their backyard. My concern is the safety of my children, my pet and our guests. I would be willing to accept $500 for the two pieces that are significantly damaged.

Sincerely,

E

It seems as though my efforts are going to be futile. I'm not going to spend any more time dealing with this issue. I made an effort, she is being unreasonable, you do what you need to do.

Richard and his crew worked for two days this week doing fire mitigation work at my home in Evergreen. It was not cheap, but they did an excellent job in a timely manner. This is a professionally-run company that I highly recommend, and will use again.
