 Ifinally received email from [redacted] in which he tried to justify his behavior. He said he was not ignoring my...

calls and emails , but did not respond because my email was virus-infeced. When I asked him why he did not use the phone and call me, there was no response and that was the end of the email exchange.Since filing my complaint, I remembered that I forgot to include that I had left my external hard drive to be checked by RSA because I could not tell if it was functioning properly. Then [redacted], who at that time was not the proprietor of RSA, but was employed by RSA, negotiated to purchase the business from the [redacted]. Included in the deal was equipment that [redacted] allowed the proprietor to take with him. That included my external hard drive. That belonged to me and he had no right to behave as if it was his. That was theft.He did replace it when I complained, but then I left the replacement one with him and it never was returned.  I hired a new technician to complete the work on my computer at a cost of $360.

Review: I have been using RSA Computer services for many years and have been satisfied with their service until recently. The proprietor, [redacted], agreed to install all Windows updates and programs which I provided, and to transfer data from my old laptop PC to my new one, and to remove any infecting viruses. A charge of $128.84 was made to my [redacted] account, of which $39.99 was for data transfer, after which I discovered that a great deal of data was missing. I had to bring the new computer back to RSA so that they could find and transfer the remaining data. I picked up the computer on September * and another charge of $171.80 was made to my [redacted] account. When I received my [redacted] statement I was startled to see that the first charge was not $128.84 but $1288.40, and the second charge was not $171.80 but $859.00. I contacted [redacted]. who agreed to correct the errors. He said he did, which I do not debate, having checked all charges sent me by [redacted], but I never received any such notice from [redacted] that this was done.

After paying my [redacted] bill, I discovered that there was still data missing, some of which was restored remotely. However, there is still data missing that allowed me to use my bibliographic software with my Word for Windows program. That is still missing and I cannot use this function to generate bibliographies, needed for submitting journal articles I write and a book to be published. [redacted] never returned repeated phone calls and email messages, ignoring my insistence that he rectify the matter. Now I have to employ the services of a different computer technician to address this problem for me.

In addition, [redacted] was obligated to replace my external hard drive, which I had given him to check that it was backing up data. He said it was now in the hands of the previous [redacted] of RSA, from whom [redacted] purchased the business, but he promised to replace it. He never did. The Verbatim external hard drive cost me $78.24.

I have paid him $211.79 ($39.99 + $171.80) for services which were not provided in full.He also owes me $78.24 for a new external hard drive which he never replaced, a total of $290.03 This of course does not compensate me for the time spent in pursuing [redacted] to get him to provide the service and equipment he owed me.

[redacted] has behaved most irresponsibly and disrespectfully toward me. I do not want to have to sue him in Small Claims CourtDesired Settlement: I would like credit of $211.77 to my [redacted] account and a refund of $78.24 in check, cash or money order.
