Review: On March 15, 2014, we received a call from this company Fix smith that told us they were receiving messages from Microsoft that our computer had virus problems that they could fix. The caller was not located in the United States. We gave them remote access and paid them $330.00 for a lifetime fix for our computer. It took them several hours and when they were done all they had done was install free versions of CC cleaner and Malwares anti-virus Malware. I tried calling them 27 times the next day, from morning to night and it was busy every time. They also entered my husband's e-mail account and sent an e-mail from it. So I called Microsoft and was referred to a Microsoft certified company who showed me that they not only did not fix my problem but spyware was added. I got my computer fixed and reported a fraudulent charge to my credit card. I tried to contact Fixsmith again with the help of the company who fixed my computer and they hung up on us. They called my home later and my husband told the man that it was a scam and they fixed nothing. The man told him it was a legit business and we should have called them to fix the problem again. My husband got tired of arguing with him and ended the call. The next time they called, I answered and the man was very rude. He said my husband threatened him (not true) and said and I quote "tell that man that if he has 10 lawyers, we have 100 lawyers". I explained my suspicions about the line being busy the whole day and about the free software and he said that if I would have called, they would have refunded my money. I said that in the e-mail they fraudulently sent, it stated no refunds. He stated once more that it is a legit business and they would refund my money in 8 to 10 days. These foreign call centers need to learn how to speak to people. Microsoft will not call you, don't fall for the scam. I reported to my police as well, they have my husband's drivers license number.

Review: I believe I was scammed into buying virus protection for my computer. the call came to me at 911 number. the person I talked to was [redacted] he convinced me into purchasing this protection for 249.95 for a 5 year plan.[redacted] called me several times from the 911 number and left messages that he could not finish the installation process and for me to call him at the customer support number [redacted] . I also called the listed business number at [redacted] several times. no phone connection could be made as if the numbers do not exist. my concern is obviously the money also I do not know if I have this service. I do not understand what is going on here.Desired Settlement: other than a refund I would like an explanation about how the 911 number is involved.
