R&T Expo Reviews (1)

I would like to respond to the person as well as this unjustified complaint, our office has been trying to resolve this issue and showed compassion and understanding to the customer; however, this has been disregarded. The customer have spend several days test driving vehicle prior to the purchase,...

he has taken the car for review with his family as well as an option to take the vehicle to his mechanic. The vehicle was sold with no issues at the time of purchase, the sale was listed for AS IS conditions with full understanding from the customer that he is purchasing a used vehicle with AS IS conditions. The vehicle was inspected by the mechanic and no problems were found. Further more, to all our customers we offer to take the vehicle for further inspection to their mechanics prior to completing a purchase, if the customer chooses to void that option it is their choice. The warranty was sold at the request of the customer and we do not have any interest from this sale, the warranty is a third party business that has no ties to our location and or our business. Often small dealerships have warranty representatives leave their brochures at our offices and that is how the customer came across the warranty. The customer then contacted us three days later, complaining at the tapping noise in the car. During the drive with the customer there were no tapping noise determined, we have taken the vehicle to the nearest mechanic where no issues were uncovered. I am not sure how the customer was driving the vehicle and it is very possible that the vehicle was broken as a result of the customers driving in the few days that the car was in their possession. In any case, at the time the vehicle was brought to our location no issues were uncovered. Our further communication with this customer was due to the fact that warranty company reached out to us and in our turn we have reached out to the customer to inform them that the warranty were not able to cover the car due to the modification. We do not have override over the warranty decisions and this decision was made directly by the warranty. On the same day the customer has signed a different warranty to ensure coverage of the vehicle and the modifications. Once the vehicle was broken, they have started a claim with the warranty and at the time of interview they have stated that there was a tapping noise at the time of purchase, which gave an excuse to the warranty to determine that there was pre-existing condition and deny repairs. Once again, I want to point out that there were NO pre-existing condition and vehicle was inspected and reviewed by several third party mechanics that have no relations to our business or the customer. No issues with the car were determined. With sincere understanding to the customers issue and in hopes to resolve this problem we have inspected the car with third party mechanics (invoice attached for repairs totaling in the amount of $4,124.76). In the matter of 2 (two) months the car was driven over 5000 miles with no oil change that could very well cause the issue with the engine. Regardless of findings by the mechanics, we have offered to split the cost of the repairs with the customers 50%- 50%. This would have caused our business to lose money on this deal as well as at the time of purchase the customer have already received a $2000 discount from the advertised price.  After several weeks of negotiations, phone calls, threats from the customer, we were forced to ignore any further communication as they are insisting that our business pays full cost of the repairs. I would like to point out that the repair were estimated at $4,124.76 and even though the vehicle was sold in AS IS conditions with signed docs by the customer, we have offered to share 50% of repair cost. Our offer was ignored and neglected. We have made several attempts to resolve this issue but unfortunately all our trying were ignored.
