It is the best investment we made. It is such a great alternative to a new concrete floor. Easy on the eyes and the feet!! Easy to keep clean too. Natasha and her crew were prompt, courteous and professional. Definitely worth every penny.

Thank you so much ***, customer satisfaction and eliminating concrete headaches like yours is what we strive for. It was a true pleasure working with you!

Very professional from the time of the estimate to the time of the installation! Their staff is top notch, courteous, and keep you informed every step of the way. We are extremely pleased with the resurface of our very worn patio. I highly recommend them and you will not be disappointed!

Thank you so very much, this job was one of our favorite transformations!

CSM is honest, reliable, professional and all-around great at their craft. We had a broken concrete pad with large areas of dirt between concrete sections. We had CSM cover it with rubber stone and they did a neat, expert job. What an improvement for a fraction of the cost it would have been to remove the concrete and replace with new concrete or stone. CSM got back to us immediately throughout the process and answered all of our questions.
We highly recommend them for your next project!

Thank you so very much ***!

We originally contracted with CSM to refinish our garage floor on April 8 2019 to install a 5 layer quartz floor. This was to include all labor and prep work. Diamond grind and fill in cracking in parts of the floor. This was done and looked smooth and even.
We had several conversations beforehand with Mr. Schmidt and was assured repeatedly that the floor would be done properly. He stated several times that the laborers were qualified for this work.
The floor was duly installed and looked great, but it didn’t last. Apparently quartz floors have to be very carefully installed including mixing the components to certain specifications. 2 weeks later, we had bubbling and markings showing up. It was sticky and he had his men come out and clean them up. More came and finally after several more consultations, we were told that it probably hadn’t been mixed properly and wasn’t setting.
The only recourse was to grind the whole layer off the floor. When we talked again, we were told they could put a 3 layer epoxy coating down and that would solve the problem.
We told him several times not to send the same men out because we felt they weren’t qualified to do this. He kept assuring us he would oversee the work. Unfortunately he sent more of his men out with a big grinder. They made a mess and left ridges and actual circles in the entire floor. We asked him to come again and he stated that it would fill in when they put the epoxy coat on, which was done without any supervision from him. He came out this fall and we paid the balance, but still remarked on the look of the floor.
With bad weather here now, we’ve found that the water off the cars is pooling in several places because of the rough surface and the floor being ground down so far that it no longer drained to the floor drain. We have pictures of the first finished floor which was perfectly flat and even, and pictures of the floor we have now showing the mess. There are standing puddles and shows scrub marks all over it.
He has tried to tell us that it was the floor settling and he’s not responsible for it.
The pictures we have of his laborers shows the amount of floor they ground off.
We requested he come out again before the holidays and examine the floor. He denied it was the work his laborers did and when we showed him one of the many grind marks that formed a perfect circle the size of the grinder blades, he reluctantly said he would take responsibility for that one and when spring came he would have the puddle spots roughed out and put a filler in them. We stated again that we wanted someone supervising this repair and to schedule enough time to do it properly.
Considering their past work, I have serious concerns this would correct the problem and we could end up with even more trouble than we have now. I feel that we went to great lengths to work with them and now we are faced with a very expensive problem and no guarantee of a final outcome.

First let us say, we understand the concern Mr. has. During our initial consult, I did make it clear that neither quartz or the 3-layer epoxy system would be our preferred product for his floor, due to some damage and heaving that had already occurred with the floor. There was a significant amount of cracking and heaving to one side of the garage, and some salt damage to the other. There was no sealer or other system on the floor prior to starting. This is important to note when talking about standing water because, unsealed concrete remains porous. What this means is, though there is a working drain in place, there were numerous escape routes for standing water aside from his drain. The large cracks that ran both vertical and horizontal, in conjunction with the unsealed concrete would lead to absorption and dissipation of the water. Now that all those escape routes have been filled and sealed there is no where for that water to go to. I do believe that the same complaint would have been made regardless of if the original requested product did set correctly or even if Epoxy had been his first choice. We do accept the responsibility of the abrasion marks being left behind by the grinder due to negligence of an employee that is no longer with CSM due to this very occurrence. We feel that if those blemishes were not there, Mr. would be able to accept this explanation for his standing water and accept that he may need to just run a squeegee across the floor from time to time. Ultimately, we gave him a sealed surface that would protect and extend the life of his floor. The water that maybe standing in some areas is not standing on his concrete causing more damage, as it was prior to our install. So, in conclusion we did install a seamless sealed unit in Mr. garage that is standing up as it should, doing its desired job as it should. We do apologize for the blemishes from the grinder, and if he is unwilling to allow us to fix those spots, we understand a partial reimbursement. But ultimately the floor is doing as it should, our prep process would not remove enough concrete to change the direction of his pitch to his drain, but it would seal off and completely eliminate the waters escape route.

There is nothing that we will be able to do or say to change Mr. mind. I am not willing to offer a full refund when he has a fully functioning protective coating on his floor.

We admitted to the perfect circle abrasion marks and offered to fix them, these other low lying spots are from use on 30+ year old concrete. Our current warranty actually notes this in bold, our products are poured in place so they will follow the contours of the original floor. Also CONCRETE IS POROUS that's why no water was noticed prior to having a sealed unit installed, the water had somewhere to go, now Mr. must squeegee it to the drain. The grinder picture is erroneous , that was not all concrete as Mr. would portray, we are removing a miniscule amount of surface when grinding, not enough to change the entire pitch direction of a garage.

That being said, the job was done for a number of months before any type of complaint was filled with us, and we came out almost immediately to meet with him, as we always have for any client. At this point, im not even comfortable with putting out more time and resources for something that will always be seen as unsatisfactory.

So I've attached the requested information, as well as our warranty that was updated 8/1/2019, I know that is not applicable to Mr. but it is something that 1) is typically asked during consultation or 2) Already known by client

Mr. still today, to the best of my knowledge, has a functioning protected floor, free of any cracks or defects that would compromise the integrity of his substrate. So just to reiterate, im am not willing to offer a full refund.

In a word, fantastic,!!
Great product, knowledgeable and courteous staff.
They arrived on time, installation a work of art. They left the area cleaner than when they started.
We have had many compliments on the floor and at least 2 friends are considering it for next year.
Recommend the company highly. Natasha was excellent and really knows her products

Professional, personable, great workmanship, neat, clean. Have received many compliments.

I am completely happy with the new Sierra Stone finish on our front porch. It went through its first winter without damage and looks as good as it did the first week. The work was done as scheduled by a hard-working crew. They cleaned up the mess and were careful to avoid damaging the flowers planted around the porch. The work included replacing a support column and that was also done well.

We had our garage floor redone with the rubber stone product just after Labor Day. The workers were here when they were supposed to be, were courteous, and did a nice job of cleaning off the old surface. The next day they arrived at 8AM and went right to work installing the new product. They were done by 2PM. and cleaned up after themselves. So far, it has been everything they told us it would be. It is such an improvement over the cracked and crumbling concrete, has a nice texture, and looks great! I am interested in seeing how it holds up after a winter, but I am optimistic because so far it is better than I had imagined!

Thank you!

They finished our garage floor with the green and black Rubber Stone. It looks great. When one of our neighbors saw it ,they had their garage floor done by CSM Finishing. After they were done we found a couple of rough spots and they came right over and fixed them. Very nice family. I highly recommend them.

They did an amazing job. Let us know exactly what they were doing. If we had questions they answered them. We love our garage floor.

I just had our two car garage finished in Rubberstone after seeing my neighbors garage done. This company is GREAT. They are honest with their quote with no surprises. The work they do is excellent and they are very professional. I have already recommended this company and Rubberstone to a number of my friends. I did not want concrete again on the garage floor and cannot be more pleased with the product and their work. I t is nice to support a local company who lives in the community. A+++++++ Thanks

Thank you, when you support and invest your money locally everyone wins! We appreciate your business!

I had CSM Finishing cover my concrete deck w/ *** Stone in May of this year. They had the work done in 2 work days. I have had several comments on how great the porch looks. FYI I waited until Sept to see how the porch would hold up after a few months. I have no complaints.

Rubberstone NY Response

Thank you!

I had been looking for something to improve my enclosed porch floor. Received a flyer about CSM Finishing and liked what I saw. Called for appointment to get an estimate. Natasha was very friendly and professional. Liked that she had several samples with her and explained about each product. I decided on the Sierra Stone and it looks great.
Jon and is crew were very friendly and left no messes behind which made me very happy. I would highly recommend CSM Finishing to anyone looking to make improvements to their floors, walk ways, or patios.

Rubberstone NY Response

The pleasure was all ours, your porch looks wonderful, glad you like it as much as we do!

Product and installation was as advertised and looks beautiful! Can't wait to have my patio done by CSM next year.

Rubberstone NY Response

Thank you!

I had been avoiding replacing our garage floor for years. I have severe asthma and was dreading the amount of dust a traditional concrete floor demolition would entail, not to mention the noise and mayhem! I heard about CSM Finishing from a brochure and contacted them. I decided, with Jon the owners advice, on the black with 30% gray as well as covering the concrete blocks around the perimeter (my choice). I was confident from the moment they began until they completed the job that I had made the correct decision. He and his staff were cordial and from what I saw during and after completion, extremely competent in the performance of their craft! The garage floor looks beautiful and with the concrete block perimeter also covered, a very fine and finished look was achieved. I am very particular when it comes to my home and CSM Finishing actually surpassed even my highest expectations and I am not easy to please!! Thank you Jon, Natasha and your staff for a job extremely well done!!
