The original call was for a leak on the floor coming from the toilet. I ([redacted]) went out and found a leak on the fill valve at the bottom of the toilet. After the toilet fill valve was installed, we waited and tested it. There was still a leak. Homeowner than told me that they had removed the...

whole tank to install the fill valve, and I noticed that the leak was coming from the bolts where the tank was improperly installed. I then did not charge any additional charges to try and help her with the cost. I then noted that the water would stay running due to the flapper. I explained to her that she could do it if she did not want to pay anything else because she kept saying she could not afford to pay. I do have to emphasis that this call was for a leak on the outside of the toilet but in order to make this repair I had to redo the fill valve due to improper installation by homeowner. I did not replace the fill valve because it was brand new. I did have to adjust the water level, due to the homeowner not knowing how to do it. Homeowner did call again because the flapper was leaking. I agreed to buy the flapper and install and only charge for the flapper itself. I did not charge the homeowner a fee for installing the flapper. And as the homeowner agreed upon these terms I installed it. At that time I also informed her that the original call was for a leak on the external part of the toilet. That leak was repaired and there are no leaks currently. At that time I sent [redacted] to make sure the flapper did not need to be adjusted. Which he said it was working properly. Before he left he flushed the toilet about 15 times with the customer there. And again there was no charge for this visit. I received a call yesterday from the customer saying that there was no water in the tank. I explained to the customer that a fee would be charged this time because the problem is not from the initial leak that was repaired. And I received a threat from the customer saying that I would regret doing this. Which I then told her if there was a leak on the floor or something wrong that I repaired I would gladly fix. I had already been out twice without charging. I tried to explain to the customer that the fill valve could possible be bad. But since I did not charge to replace the fill valve, my charge was to correct the external leak, I explained to customer that there would be a charge to replace the fill valve due to a faulty part that I did not provide. Customer then got upset because she thinks my warranty for the external leak should cover the replacement of fill valve that she purchased and installed incorrectly. I did everything I could to assist this customer in fixing her toilet. [redacted]'s Plumbing Services can not be at fault for a faulty part that was purchased by the customer. There is currently no leaks on the floor which was the original customer complaint.
