My mother was under the care of Dr [redacted] with Centra Health, Lynchburg Hematology and Oncology for breast cancer beginning January On April 2017, my mother passed away due to complications/side effects of treatmentDr [redacted] office continued to bill for services on May 2017, June and July and even filed for reimbursement for these charges with MedicareMedicare had already been notified of my mothers passing so they denied this chargesI have contacted Centra Health central billing as well as the billing desk at the doctor's officeI have been told the charges would be removed on each occasion yet I still receive a bill the following monthI can not imagine how many people and how much money this company is scamming using these fraudulent practicesHow many cases are out there that Medicare has paid for services not rendered?

My son received service at a Centra facility in *** ** He is a full time student and had lab work done on 4/6/ While I thought the charges were overly excessive $677, our insurance covered $ My son received a bill for the remaining balance in late May The 1st payment of $was made in June Additional payments were made averaging $a month over months until he received a collection notice in October
I called the Centra Inc, Customer service two weeks ago because I could not understand why the remaining $balance was sent to a collection agency$was paid towards the original billI asked the Customer Service Rep that I wanted to speak to a supervisor for this to be cleared up so it would not appear on my sons credit record The CSR told me the Supervisor was too busy but the Supervisor told the CSR that I needed to make an immediate payment of $which I paid over the phone I requested a receipt for the payment and they told

I went to Centra's Lynchburg General Hospital complaining of mid back pain and spasmsThe nurse gave me something for pain which helped very littleThen, the Nurse (NOT A DOCTOR), without ANY examination of me proclaimed I had kidney stonesI informed her I have had kidney stones in the past and this was not kidney stonesWrong type of pain and COMPLETELY wrong locationThe nurse proclaimed again, I had kidney stones. They gave me different pain reducing coctails in order to reduce pain long enough for me to lay still for a CT Scan to locate the kidney stonesThen they performed a CT Scan on me, the whole time I was telling them it was NOT A KIDNEY STONE! After the CT Scan, FINALLY, a Doctor came in and said the CT Scan showed NO stones and it had to be muscle relatedThey gave me a muscle relaxer and the pain went completely awayThey prescribed muscle relaxers and discharged me to go homeI have tried for OVER a week to contest the bill for the pain reducing cocktails a

Outpatient surgery was scheduled spring, at Centra Health facility Lynchburg General Hospital Surgeon was overbooked and I was rescheduled about a week beforehand to new date and time: am, April 20, A few days before, I was given a new time of 11:30; this was the third schedule adjustment Both myself and spouse took leave from work and we arrived 7:am for pfor 11:surgery Hour after hour passed and I was repeatedly told I'd be going in for surgery soon By mid-afternoon my wife sought clarity and the nursing staff finally conceded they didn't know when I would be seen and the surgeon still had at least one other surgery before mine By 3:pm, we asked to leave and specifically asked how charges would be processed because of our inconvenience (and wasted leave from work) and Centra's poor handling of the situation: three times scheduled and still no surgery The discharge nurse specifically stated she would sign off on my papers that there were to be

I went to *** Medical Group-*** and asked for my free wellness examination in March, I specifically told both the receptionist and the lady who took my blood that I only wanted what was covered by my health insurance, and did NOT want any additional lab work done because in past years I have always been billed for extra lab workAs it turned out, I received a bill for lab work after all in the amount of $and learned after my first phone call that it was for a Vitamin D test which my insurance did not cover
I spoke with ***, my insurance provider, who contacted ***'s billing department*** was not able to get any resolution with *** and was told by the *** billing representative that callbacks were not possible to either *** or me, the patientI then contacted *** billing once per month for the next months, speaking to a different representative each time, and each time being told that it would be taken care of, and that they do not call

On May 15, I was advised by my doctor to go to the Gretna ER for some medicine to slow my heart rate down While there I was also told that I had low blood pressure Because I refused a CAT Scan I was immediately told to sign discharge papers I never received a diagnosis or discharge papers It is my legal right to refuse certain procedures but because I refused the PA no longer wished to treat me Being said, they never reported back to my doctor that sent me there They saw my heart rate was dangerously high but did absolutely nothing

I had a baby in Dec 2017, my insurance covered a majority of it, but then I owed a few hundred dollars after insuranceI asked to be on a payment plan for monthsI repeatedly paid every month, but missed two months (not consecutively) because of holidays and travelingThey DID NOT call me to discuss or remind me BEFORE sending to collectionsHow dare you treat patients this wayYou should at least make a call or mail something to let us know that we missed a payment and it would be sent to collections
