Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, but I would just like to point out that we emailed the attorney ALL of the documents requested in AprilI have the sent email to prove this factAlso when we received the letter from the court advising us we were missing documents we immediately called the law office several times a day for several weeks with no return callsWe left several messages with the receptionist and on the voicemailsWe even sent emails to law office but those were kicked back as being invalid email addresses After filing a complaint with Revdex.com and our local law enforcement agency we contacted a business associate of [redacted] and explained to him our situationShortly after talking to the associate we received an email from ***Yes he took care of the filing BUT it took a lot longer than it needed toI don't like the fact he's pinning this on usLike I said we gave him everything we needed to weeks before our final court dateOur court date was in May.....he just now got back to us about weeks agoThis is not our fault I still feel this company has very poor business practices Thanks for your time, ***

Contrary to the Ms***'s complaint, we did file all required paperwork in their bankruptcy case However, the ***s failed to complete a second required credit counseling course, which per our
agreement was solely their responsibility (this was explicitly laid out in our engagement agreement), and due to their failure the case was temporarily closed without discharge They were at all times aware of this requirement Once they finally got around to taking the credit counseling course we promptly filed a motion to reopen their case along with a request for discharge, as the only remaining item holding up discharge was completion of that course The Court granted our motion and discharged all of their debts the following day The case is now closed, all their debts are discharged, and all services contracted for performed correctly and completed They are fully aware of this and appreciative at this point in time I would note that this entire problem could have been avoided had the ***s taken the course timely and as specified in our agreement and per the bankruptcy court rules

Review: We contacted Ruehmann Law Firm regarding our bankruptcy. We went to our final bankruptcy court hearing in April and the case would have been discharged in May. We never received any documentation regarding our case being closed. Some time in May we received something in the mail from the bankruptcy court saying our case cannot be discharged until all documents are filed and recorded. We assumed our attorney's [redacted] or [redacted] took care of all of this because they took care of the rest. After calling the law office several times with no returned call we figured out what we needed to do and submitted the paperwork ourselves. We just received more paperwork from the bankruptcy court saying we will have to pay additional fees and go to court again to have our case completed. I have tried to call Ruehmann Law Firm and I'm told no one is in the office to take my call. I have left several messages and so has my husband for over a month. I don't feel as if they completed their obligations. They did NOT complete our bankruptcy case.Desired Settlement: I paid them $2500 to file and complete our bankruptcy. They did NOT complete the filing and we're having to pay additional monies on something we know nothing about. We're also being told we have to attend another court hearing when we've already done this once.

Response:

Contrary to the Ms. [redacted]'s complaint, we did file all required paperwork in their bankruptcy case. However, the [redacted]s failed to complete a second required credit counseling course, which per our agreement was solely their responsibility (this was explicitly laid out in our engagement agreement), and due to their failure the case was temporarily closed without discharge. They were at all times aware of this requirement. Once they finally got around to taking the credit counseling course we promptly filed a motion to reopen their case along with a request for discharge, as the only remaining item holding up discharge was completion of that course. The Court granted our motion and discharged all of their debts the following day. The case is now closed, all their debts are discharged, and all services contracted for performed correctly and completed. They are fully aware of this and appreciative at this point in time. I would note that this entire problem could have been avoided had the [redacted]s taken the course timely and as specified in our agreement and per the bankruptcy court rules.

Thanks for your time,

Review: They promised me a refund on Sept 10. Now they report a downturn in Business and are using my money interest free. They are no longer answering phones

The quality of their work was very poor. The did not resolve our issue. We then sent them $2500. to file for bankruptcy. They charged us $1000. To say that we do not have a case for bankruptcy and promised to return the rest of the money on Sept 10, 2012. They then explained that they are experiencing a downturn in business and are unable to refund our money. They no longer answers the phone or respond to emails. The business manager, Mr [redacted], is predictably out on sick leave.Desired Settlement: I would like them to refund all of the money we paid them due to the fact that they did lousy work and are not a reputable law firm. When I first met with Mr [redacted] he expressly told me that Ruehmann was recommended by the Revdex.com's of both Folsum and Sacramento. The firm was already in default in Aug when he took a second payment (of $2500) from me. The specific lawyer who "represented us" has left the firm and had the nerve to send us a letter with the expectations of us hiring her again(!).
