This business owner took the carpet from storage location without any consent from the customer, he did not provide a receipt or request a verbal agreement from usThere are witnesses that can confirm the gentleman walked away with the carpet when we were not expecting and told us we had to go down to his office for an appraisal, although the appraisal should have been done on site and he should not have had taken the carpet without consent He played on emotional vulnerability of the customer at the time of loss.Prior to coming to the storage location the business owner had told us that it would cost $to appraise the carpet, at no time did he say he would take away the carpet from where it was being stored( $to $is a going rate for Persian carpet appraisal, which we ultimately had to pay for a valid appraisal of the carpet by a legitimate Persian carpet appraiser) Afraid that we may never see the carpet again this business owner made us drive down to his office location, only to give us a preposterous number for appraising the carpet ($to $5000) and proposed that he would appraise the carpet at $over it's real value When I told him this was not legitimate, and his desires to engage in insurance fraud was not in our interest, or that the unreasonable pricing he was mentioning was not what we had discussed over the phone he kept the carpet as collateral in order to charge $for a work that was not done I have since had to pay $to a legitimate appraiser who gave us the realistic value of the carpet I have no problems speaking to media about this business' unethical conduct

dear Mrs*** ,I charged for travel and pick up of one rug.we explained the appraisal and cleaning process and they said no.customer said she doesn't have money and will mail us ,we said no then said paid us and got the rug.she had the money and did not want to pay us and giving us

Review: This company without any permission from the owners of a Persian carpet, without any written notice or consent took possession of our item from the storage facility where it was held, took it to his business location and would not release the item without $100 payment.

Aside from ethical concerns, the owner of this business engages in false advertisement stating that he would complete an appraisal on the item in question for the $100 payment. No such appraisal was provided.Desired Settlement: it is requested that the owner of this business return the $100 which was taken for no reason at all immediately.

Review: The Rug Gallery Took my 2 Rugs from my place of residence on 02/18/14 and promised to return them cleaned by 02/20/14 for the amount of $300 which included pickup and delivery chargeI was very upset when my rugs were not returned on 02/20/14 as I waited around most of the day. When I called the rug gallery on 02/20/14 in the afternoon the person that answered the phone claimed to be the owner and said he couldn't deliver the rugs and If I wanted them I would have to drive to San Clemente to pick them up, even though I had paid for delivery.I refused to drive to San Clemente and told the owner that I had paid for delivery and would rather have them delivered.After a few more calls on 02/20/14 and 02/21/14, 02/22/14, 02/24/14 I finally got my 2 rugs on 02/25/14.The person delivering the rugs claimed to be the owner who answered all the phone calls made to them.The 2 Rugs were not cleaned, there was stains and dirt on them the same way they were picked up.When I complained to him about the rugs being dirty, he immediately took both rugs and threw them in the back of his van and started driving away.I told him not to drive away with my rugs that I would call the police.He yelled out saying I WANT CASH AND NO CHECK FOR THIS DELIVERY AND DROVE OFF.I called him again on his phone and begged him to return my rugs because these rugs are very valuable and expensive.I paid him $300 in cash so I can get my 2 rugs back.I'm very upset at this gentleman's behavior and business practice.I don't understand how someone like this man and his company can be in business.He was holding on to 2 of my Persian rugs that are valued at $17 to $18,000 and almost drove away with them.Worst service and worst company I've ever dealt with.These people are criminals.Desired Settlement: $300 in Cash the same way I paid him so I can get them cleaned elsewhere.

1- The Invoice was written by the driver as you can see very unprofessional $150 per rug x 2 = $300. As you can see he wrote $150 in front of one of the rugs.

2- My Mother was involved with this transaction, her name is on the invoice ( Maryam Makoi ).
