Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The dealership is stating there is a " chuggle " in the torque converter that does not belong there. I made them aware of this and contrary to what the dealership states. I am not trying to " get rid " of the vehicle. I am simply not happy with the performance as it is a mechanical issue that they are responsible for. I want the truck fixed or traded in.

Revdex.com:At this time, I have not been contacted by Ruge Dodge regarding complaint ID [redacted].It is upsetting and disappointing to say the least that the dealership has not sought out an equitable resolution.  The dealership making a statement that they have 25 years of impeccable customer service has no bearing on this situation.  The dealership has offered one other vehicle that I found online.  That truck was a White 2006 Dodge Ram that was at their Subaru Location and had multiple cigarette burns throughout the front and rear of the passenger compartment, the check engine light was on for whatever reason and the back bed was rusted.  It was in worse condition than the vehicle they sold me.  The time they referenced that I missed a meeting with the dealership was when they sold a vehicle I was interested in from their Copake location.  The dealership's [redacted] wanted to sell me a new lease or vehicle, neither of which I can afford and was communicated to the dealership.  I explained to the dealership I am trying to save for a house, the [redacted] stated they don't care.  That is none of  their concern.  They have stated multiple times that had other vehicles on the lot that " were too much truck for you ", meaning they cost too much.  Lastly - the " CHUGGLE " that happens is not just at the moment the transmission is shifting up or down, meaning it does not last for just seconds.  It can last miles at times within the speeds of 30 to 60 MPH.  This has been clearly communicated by me to the [redacted] and dealership's [redacted].  The dealership did replace the torque converter and transmission oil pump in February of 2014 neither of which fixed the problem.  This is an ongoing unresolved issue and is not a matter preference!I thought getting this agency involved would help the resolution process, unfortunately it has not.  I just want a truck that does not shimmy or shake while driving it.      Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: I purchased a used 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 in November 2013. After driving it one week the check engine light came on. Dealership reset the codes. 1 Month later until now there is a vibration / hesitation in the transmission or driveline that occurs between the speeds of 35 to 60 mph when the automatic transmission needs to step down a gear. This vehicle has gone back to the dealership a multitude of times and the dealership is fully aware of the problem and states that it is " preference " that I do not want a truck that hesitates. The dealership states that this vehicle is " Fine ". I noticed this problem with the vehicle in December 2013 and reported it to the dealership [redacted]. The dealership replaced the torque converter and transmission pump in February 2014, which neither fixed the problem. While I was at the dealership, the [redacted] stated that if the problem existed then they will fix it. I called the dealership [redacted], [redacted] and told her the problem was not rectified and requested a refund. The [redacted] told me to push the button on the gear selector to take the vehicle out of overdrive and that was the permanent fix. In May of 2014, I spoke to the [redacted], [redacted], [redacted] who stated that it was in the better interest of the dealership to " get me out from underneath this vehicle ". They have not acted on this nor have they fixed the flawed vehicle. The dealership has not rectified this vehicle nor done anything to help me after I gave them $15000 to purchase the vehicle. We are almost at 1 year ownership of this vehicle. A vehicle that is now getting worse in shifting and not working accurately. I have explicitly explained this to the dealership via phone conversations and 1 on 1 meetings with [redacted] and [redacted], [redacted]. I do not have the resources to " Hunt " the problem down. This is an existing problem since I took ownership of the vehicle and should be the dealership that remedies this.Desired Settlement: I am requesting that the vehicle be replaced or Refund of the current loan amount plus my $4000.00 down payment. I have asked the dealership for a refund including my down payment.I was told by [redacted] they would not refund my down payment that I would loose the $4000 because I cannot drive a vehicle for free.

Response:

Ruge's Dealerships have been in business for over 75 years. We pride ourselves on trust and credibility that the countless satisfied customers have relied on for many years.

We sold this 2005 Dodge Ram in November 2013, customer came in a month later, 12/**, with a check engine light which was misfire on cylinder 1 cleared monitors. Customer came in a few days later with a multiplte cylinder misfire, took care of the repairs and did a tune up. Customer came in January **, we replaced front pump converter and gave him a free oil change. Customer returned May *, for shake, which was fixed at no charge and stated he was unhappy with the torque converter chuggle. The technician did not find anything to be mal-functioning at that time. The customer decided he did not want the vehicle. We made him an offer to purchase back the vehicle taking into consideration miles driven and time since purchase. Over the next few months we tried to find a suitable replacement vehicle, he was not happy with anything we presented and did not show on a couple of occaisions to look at possible replacement vehicles.

I feel we have tried everything to satify this customer. We have gone above and beyond our NYS used car warranty responsibility.

Ruge's is deeply commited to making sure all of our customers are happy and well taken care of.
