Review: On Thursday, April **, 2014 my vehicle was towed to [redacted] Service for repair by my insurance carrier Nationwide. [redacted] (son, [redacted]) advised he would order the required computer part and he would have the car ready by Monday, April **, 2014. On April **, 2014 the car was not ready. I have been getting the run around ever since as to when the car would be ready. Several times I would call or visit the shop the ascertain the delay - which resulted in a further day. This went on for weeks for very poor to little communication. On one occasion I witnessed his worker dial [redacted]'s cell phone number and I proceed to contact him that way as he has latin workers who do not speak english very well and never answer the business phone, or at least my phone calls. But I was very persistent and continued to call not only the business phone but [redacted]'s cell phone of which I have text messages from him on my cellular alleging work to be done or a followup call will be made and I never received a result. On Tuesday, May *, 2014 I went to the shop after work, he still claimed the car was not ready and had lied that he had sent the car to Sunrise VW Service Center to reprogram the computer. I advised [redacted] that I called Sunrise VW Service Center and they indicated that my vehicle was never in for repair, reprogramming - the car had never been check in to Sunrise VW service center. I asked for my car to be released to me, [redacted] said no- I advised I was calling the police, all of the employees starting shutting down the shop and speeding off in their cars. I called the Hempstead Police Department, two officers showed up and a report/claim was made. On May *, 2014 I went to the shop on my lunch hour to see if the car was in fact ready as he claimed it was. He created an invoice for alleged services. This invoice does not reflect the fact that I checked the car in on April **, 2014 as I mentioned my car was not driveable and had to be towed to his shop. He alleged he spent 5 labor hours on the car and installed a brand new module. As I witnessed over the past month my car has sat in the same spot with the guts of the gears and the computer exposed and laying on my leathers seats for days. So, after feeling apprehensive about the alleged repair, I only paid approximately 2/3rds of the bill on my credit card because I felt that he had not repaired the car properly. The key would not work to lock the car properly. [redacted] came to my office building parking lot of my employer to reprogram the key so it would lock. Later in the evening on May *, 2014, the car would not start . The check engine, abs, brake lights were on and the car would not get out of park. Which is the initial problem as to why my car was towed to his shop. I feel as if I have been lied to and false claims made if any repair(s) made to my vehicle. Please note that this shop had in fact repaired my car within the last year. An alternator was installed/replaced a year ago which was as referral from a friend who recommended the repair shop. In addition, on April **, 2014 I had my inspection done at this same location which is just a week almost prior to my vehicle being towed to this shop for repairs. A whole month with poor communication and alleged repair only to end with a disabled vehicle warrants a complaint and reimbursement.Desired Settlement: A refund is in order along with damages for missed time from work to follow up on the status of the alleged repair and unnecessary phone usage to contact the business and the cell phone of son/[redacted]). A refund should be made with damages as the business should face penalty for false statements on the invoice about the repair time, check in and check out time, the delay and unnecessary travel to the shop. In addition, I was scheduled to drive to Virginia to bring my son home from college on May *, 2014. Due to the delay in repair, I was forced to send my son home via Amtrak and his belongings were sent via Fedex.
