Rupert's Stone, Wall, Brick and Cement Reviews (1)

Review: The work performed is below standard and he refused to correct. I also caught him the house on 2/16/13 at around 9:30pm with a young lady that was not his wife in a compromising position. The following day he tried to lie about the incident. After telling him I was terminating him, he became very disrespectful using profanity and threatening to do damage to the home.Living room/Kitchen: Tape lines are clearly visible on the ceiling and walls. Primer can still be seen through the paint and he refused to apply a second coat claiming he "double rolled" it. He mixed the wall paint vs. purchasing the paint I chose. A heating element at the base of a half wall in the kitchen that was rebuilt is 75% damaged; he states its fine and won't need to be replaced.Main Bath: Green board was used on the shower walls and not the appropriate cement/backer board for shower walls. 60% of the tiles on the wall are uneven in depth, the corners on numerous tiles are either higher or lower than the surrounding tiles. The tile mosaics are also uneven. The floor was not stripped to the subfloor and leveled, instead he tiled over the original tile floor without leveling. The floor looks wavy and the tiles are also uneven.Master Bath: A wood frame for the new walk-in shower was installed over rotten floor boards which I requested he changed before framing. The wall insulation was also not correctly installed.Basement: Two leaks in the foundation walls were "repaired", both areas are still leaking.Garage: All the garbage from the demolition work was left in my garage. He stated he did not want to get a dumpster because it "would fill up with snow". In the time being he would use the town issued garbage can and fill it every week with the debris until the weather warms up and the dumpster is ordered. That was never done, every ounce of garbage from his day to day lunch and the demo work was left there.

Product_Or_Service: home renovation

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

Per our contract with Wells Fargo Bank under the 203k loan program, this needs to be settled through the Construction Industry Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Associaton. The 203k/HUD inspector came out and only approved a payment of approx $6000. He has recently placed a Mechanics Lein on my property for $22,000.I am filing this as a complaint and notice of his poor workmanship and personally conduct. Due to this I am now behind schedule and will be going over budget on my reno.

Consumer indicated they have heard from the company, but the issue has not been resolved. Comments follow below:

He has requested a lower payment amount and that I remove the complaint. I refused both, as the lein is still on the property. Once the issue is resolved and the lein removed I will withdraw this complaint.
