Shoddy work and poor customer service!
I retained Elizabeth D of Rupp Baase for my divorce. She immediately handed off my case to Michael C in the firm. Almost all the terms of the divorce had been agreed upon in advance, except for the monetary award to my ex-wife. After Michael drew up the paperwork, I instructed him to change the amount of the monetary award. He changed in in one paragraph, but not the other. Not realizing he had mentioned the award in more than one place, I signed the agreement and it was filed with the court.
After the divorce was finalized, my ex-wife pointed out that the monetary award was mentioned twice, and is now demanding payment of 2.5 times what I agreed to pay her.
When I pointed this out to Elizabeth D, she said it was my fault for not thoroughly reviewing the document, and claimed they are not at fault.
I retained a law firm to provide legal advice because I could not do a divorce on my own.
If you use this firm, make sure you hire another lawyer to review their work.
After paying their outrageous fees ($350/hour for Elizabeth), I now need to hire another attorney to fix their mistakes.
