Rural/Metro overcharged on a non-emergency ambulance transport. The major billing error related to the [redacted] discount, which Rural/Metro didn't applyThe main issue in the billing dispute is Rural/Metro's failure to honor the [redacted] provider discount per their contract. This discount amount is $404.19. In addition, I was charged for excess mileage $86.40 and an infection control pack $72.30 which was never used. The remaining charges were paid by [redacted] and myself.After repeated attempts to contact Rural/Metro, by telephone, mail and fax, I continued to get the run around. I was promised a supervisor will call me back, but no one did.I contacted Health Advocate (our medical insurance consultant) for assistance in resolving a billing dispute. They have been diligent in trying to get this resolved. Although they have not been successful, it was not for a lack of trying.The following is an email I received from health Advocate:"Per your request please see a list of each person I spoke with and when from Rural Metro. Overpaid for ambulance service. Insurance paid charges in full. Rural Metro will not refund overpayment.Original service in Jan 2015. Insurance paid charges in full. I paid $278 that it turns out I did not owe. Made multiple calls. They originally said refund was due then changed the story after each call. Insurance statement was emailed as proof and they then said it went to billing office where it was under review but I was not permitted to speak to anyone in that department. Finally they gave me a detailed reason the refund was reversed which made absolutely no sense. I've wasted hours of my time trying to get my refund. The money isn't that big of a deal but as a matter of principal its just wrong.Desired SettlementMy refund of $278 Account XXXXXXXXXXX
