We at Russ Dean Family RV have worked diligently over the last month to help Mr [redacted] find a resolution to his situationThe issue with Mr [redacted] trailer is related to a lack of maintenanceHis wheel bearings have never been packed or greased in the time Mr [redacted] has owned itWheel bearings are a maintenance item requiring repack every six months, as specified by the manufacturerBy this time in the RV's life it should have had a minimum of three bearing services doneGrease in a wheel bearing provides the same function as oil in an engineNot repacking bearings, unfortunately, leads to elevated heat and rapid deterioration of both the bearing and axel spindles Our Service personnel have spent the last month attempting to get special coverage for Mr [redacted] RV from the trailer manufacturer, axle manufacturer and extended warranty, however each has declined due to wheel bearings service being part of regular customer maintenance.-- Jason S [redacted] Operations Manager Russ Dean RV 1-800-331- [redacted] @russdeanrv.com

Revdex.com,I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and have determined that this does not resolve my complaintFor your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
I disagree with the response & stance of Russ Dean Family RVThe information given in the response is incorrect & misleadingThe 1st picture shows the bearing, spindle & drum assembly; at the bottom you can clearly see the grease in, on & around the bearing & wheel hub/drum with seals still in placeThe 2nd picture shows a page out of a small book within the inch binder that came with the camper " the owners manual"That indicated wheel bearing are not part of the month maintenance; only wheels, lug nuts & brake adjustmentAt the time of purchase if this was a such critical maintenance item this should had been stressed at the time of salePeople don't purchase RVs or any vehicle for that matter that need to have wheel bearings packed every 6,12,months? "ask yourself when was the last time you had wheel bearings in your car repacked & this is just a tow trailer?" The 3rd picture is the vehicle ID/data tag with weightsThe 4th picture is Axle data tag info "I believe this axle is labeled with a higher rating than actually is installed, This contributed to the failure4400lb rating on a 9730K lb vehicle"The 5th picture is on the spindle showing size where the inner bearing is installed"The diameter is consistent with a 3500lb rated axle"This size of trailer should have 6000lb-7000lb capacity axles, over sized for the gross vehicle of the trailer to be able to withstand rough roads, bumps at freeway speedsThere for this is a warranty issue that needs to be resolvedThere is only 1500mi & the damage was noticed at around month from the time of purchase that's only averaging 100mi/monthI had this trailer stored in a climate controlled shop for the winter & grease does not degrade in storage only with heat & time caused by mileage over time

bearings are a maintenance item requiring repack every six months, as specified by the manufacturer. By this time in the RV's life it should have had a minimum of three bearing services done. Grease in a wheel bearing provides the same function as oil in an engine. Not repacking bearings, unfortunately, leads to elevated heat and rapid deterioration of both the bearing and axel spindles.  Our Service personnel have spent the last month attempting to get special coverage for Mr. [redacted] RV from the trailer manufacturer, axle manufacturer and extended warranty, however each has declined due to wheel bearings service being part of regular customer maintenance.-- Jason S[redacted] Operations Manager Russ Dean RV 1-800-331-1821 [redacted]@russdeanrv.com
