Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I am reject and will continue to reject Mr. [redacted] responses I  have attached the receipt showing paid in full. Every time I brought something to his attention he would come up with some accuse. The roof is solid. The decking is old and dry, Is the roof leaking. You didn't say anything, The materials are his and he will do what he pleases, He refuses to acknowledge the mold that you can clearly see in the photos. These are just excuse,  Mr. [redacted] continues to make excuses to avoid accepting  the responsibility of his poor installation and poor judgment as a contractor. I will attach a copy of the receipt showing paid in full and the contract as well as the receipts for the tires.
Regards,
[redacted]

The text messages Mr. [redacted] sent showed that we replaced all the rot that needed to be replaced. The pictures are from inside the attic on the back side of the deck. This area isn't visible from the top side. The deck looks to have some staining from previous leaks. We had the roof open for one day with no rain. Per Mr. [redacted], there is no leak in the roof and there was no rain while we were working. Im not sure where the mold issue came in but it isnt due to any of the work we did.The staining/mold was not visible from the top side and must have been from previous leaks and are not detrimental to the integrity of the roof. Is the roof a bit spongy? Yes. The decking is thin 3/8" decking that isn't used anymore because it doesn't hold up well. The deck does hold a nail and other than being a little weak in spots is fine to hold the shingles and keep it water tight. The customer himself told me that he didn't have funds to cover any additional work. He couldn't cover removal of the existing slab. He stated he would do that himself. He couldn't afford the deductible, the better shingle upgrade or the fascia work which he did himself. The hole in his tire wasn't from any type of fastener we use. The only fasnters we removed or installed were from pneumatic guns using flat head 1 1/4" roofing nails and nails for replacing the rotten deck we replaced. Proof of that is in the photos of the nail heads Mr. [redacted] provided. This looks like some kind of wire in the tire. We are not responsible for all punctures in tires just because we replaced a roof at the home. I told Mr. [redacted] customer I would be happy to pay for the tire repair if he provided us the tire and or a receipt. I still have yet to see either. It is unfortunate that Mr. [redacted] fells the way he does. We were trying to help him cover his roof and get him a nice cover for the allowance the insurance provided. We replaced several sheets of deck that were rotten FREE of charge because he told us that he couldn't afford it. The bottom line is that we honored our portion of the roof contract and installed him a roof the we will warrant for the term of 5 years. We charged Mr [redacted] $5,940 for the roof plus the $364 in Paid when incurred items and his deductible of $1,350. Once we receive payment of his deductible of $1350 (the deductible is clearly stated in the middle section of the contract labeled IMPORTANT and I quote " you the homeowner, understand that you are responsible for your deductible plus any upgrades not covered by your insurance." )and the $364 in PWI items we will honor his warranty and repair any items that are within reason. As to the additional patio and concrete work we respectfully decline the opportunity to work with Mr. [redacted] and consider the contracted closed.

First and foremost we are extremely concerned about the false statements and slander in this email. Mr [redacted] and Heritage Home Services entered into an agreement to install a roof, patio cover and concrete slab on March 17 2017 for a total of $9,616 with and additional PWI (Paid When Incurred) in...

the ammount of $364.22. This amount was for drip edge flashing that the insurance would not pay for until I sent in an invoice and proved the work had been done. This was added to the final depreciation check from the insurance company.  The agreement was for 50% down and balance upon completion and the roof and patio project to be handled as two separate projects. We installed the roof with out the agreed upon deposit. It took several months to collect ANY funds from Mr. [redacted]. We were finally paid on the roof after a month or more  of trying to get paid and as a result we believe Mr [redacted] had no intentions of paying for the additional work as he refused to pay the PWI item. This is still an outstanding balance therefore we cancelled the balance of the contract. As far as the decking goes. The manufacturer of the shingles is GAF. This is the best most expensive shingles 3-tab shingle on the market. Not the cheapest out there. We tried to have Mr [redacted] install a better Lifetime shingles as stated in the options portion of the attached contract. He elected not to do it. He stated he did not have the money for the upgrade or his deductible. We were able to help him with the project anyway. The deck on the roof is a 3/8" deck. Very thin and very dry. The customer had previously stated that he did not have the funds to do any extra work so we replaced ALL the rot we found for free. He also elected to do all the wood work himself as well as removing the existing patio slab. The deck itself may have some stains on the back side of the deck visible from the attic  but the top side look fine. It is weak because the deck is thin old 3/8" in decking opriginally installed in the 70's. Not like the 1/2" CDX that is standard today. The customer previously stated he did not have funds for a $600 upgrade or his deductible so he certainly didnt have the money for another $3,000 in deck work. The roof is just fine with out new deck and we repaired, for free, the rotten deck we did find. No where in our contract did we say we were removing felt. Only shingles and we made Mr. [redacted] aware of the thin decking during the project. As far as nail penetration through the deck goes the shingle manufacturer requires the nails to penetrate the roof deck in order to be warranted. We used 1 1/4 roof nails nailed per manufacturer specifications. The shingles Mr. [redacted] ripped up on the eave above the garage to check nail placement were pulled through by him. There was one issue of deck staples pulling up in the rear. This item was repaired free of charge. The bottom line is Mr [redacted] is angry because we will not do any more work for him. We cancelled the project and he can not find anyone else that will do it for what we were doing it for. The total amount paid by the insurance company was $10,602.40 with an additional $364.22 paid additionally when the invoice was sent. This total included Mr [redacted]s deductible. Our contract amount was for $ 9,616. We have collected the total amount for the roof $5,600 and cancelled the patio and concrete portion due to lack of payment for the PWI item of $364.22 and for payment delay on the initial roof portion. Further we told Mr [redacted] that the project would be a 2 part project with deposits due on each project prior to work commencement. Mr [redacted] did not provide a deposit on the roof and when we were supposed to do the cover he also elected to not pay the deposit for that either. As a businessman if a customer slow pays or refuses to pay or proves to be a customer we can not fully satisfy we find it hard to continue to work with them. Other items like debris in the attic is beyond our control. There is a very small attic and shingle dust and some debris in the attic is expected. This was at a minimum at best. I told the customer he had weak decking from the very first meeting. He elected not to address it due to lack of funds. I spoke to Mr [redacted] about his tires and told him I would be happy to pay for them he would just need to provide me a reciept an allow me to inspect the tires. He provided neither. As far as the age of my crew goes I do not see how that is any of his business. I have been installing roofs for more than 20 years. I never told him that I would PERSONALLY install his roof. To the left over materials. We order what we believe the project needs. I always order a bit extra. These extra shingles are mine to do with as I please. I never told Mr [redacted] he could have them,. We return them for credit if they are not needed. More to the point Mr. [redacted] didnt ask for them anyway. I am very frustrated about these complaints. This complaint is riddled with holes, mis truths and are slanderous. I do not want anything from this customer. I hope the Revdex.com does the right thing.
