The repairs did take longer than originally expected,due to unforeseen circumstancesThose being, the original quarter panel took extra time to get inTheoriginal repair technician had left the company and Ifelt it was important that we had another leadtechnician continue to work on the
vehicle and notlet someone not as qualified do the repairs for timesakeI had to wait for him to finish repairs that hehad already started prior toWe also found a lot ofhidden damage once the quarter panel was cut off, 'so we had to order more parts, that took a while togetThe customers came in to speak about howlong the repairs were taking and that they werestruggling with only one vehicle, so I put them in arental at our expense, trying to relieve that burden. Customer started with going thru insuranceInsurance had us write a used mirror, we wentthrough bad ones, I notified the customer eachtimeNow, the customer informed us that theywere cancelling the claim and paying out of pocket.I ordered aftermarket mirrors, that came indamaged and wrong, in
which I had notified thecustomer each timeI told the customer I would Iorder a new Honda mirror and call when it came inI also explained to the husband the price difference, due to going from a used part to a new part, and itwould cost us more as well, he had NO problemwith thatThe first mirror came in the wrong side, Icalled the customer told them of issue and Iordered a sixth mirrorThe mirror came in good, we installed the mirror, and called the customer thatthe car was ready for pickupThe customers arrivedto pick up their Honda and the Mrsstarted tocomplain about the $price differenceI explained to her the same way I explained to her husbandabout the part being more expensive for us to buy,so that is the differenceShe thought it should bethe same price as the original mirror, I told her ifthe insurance would not have been involvedoriginally, we would have written for a new mirrorIalso explained that we had gone through otherless expensive mirrors that either were wrong ordamaged and a one-day mirror job had taken morethan a week due to these parts issuesShe thoughtit was wrong for us to charge her more, than theoriginally quoted and I reiterated that it wasn't the same type of part and our cost was more.Julie T***ControllerRutherford Auto BodyP.OBox Pickerington, OH 43147###-###-#######-###-#### fax
