I found RVA Chimney Sweeps through an ad I came acrossI looked them up and saw they were licensed and insured so I gave them a call despite the one negative complaint a previous customer made It's a father/son business and the father (Rob) came to my house to clean my chimneyHe had brought over their licence and insurance policy per my request because Revdex.com states they have not provided to themRob was polite, easy to talk to and did an excellent job cleaning the chimneyVery professional, clean and VERY fair in priceI will be using RVA Chimeny Sweeps moving forwardDo not go by that one negative complaint someone left them

The company’s assertion that the job was not paid for is incorrectI have provided the receipt to the Revdex.com showing that it was paid forThe company apparently tried to put the cap back on and did not have a sufficiently long ladder and left a note and $50 repayment on my porchI have sent a check to the company for the $because I am still not satisfied with the job and want it completedThe representative indicated that the cap was bent, which was true, but I have bent it back into shapeI understand that the company does not wish to purchase a long enough ladder, which is why I would have expected them to rent oneAs a matter of fact there is a*** rental location with foot ladders located less than miles from my house

RVA chimney sweep did a great job serving and cleaning our really dirty chimney. Robert , the owner, came twice to clean our chimney since it was super dirty and no one had cleaned it in probably 10 years. My father in law used them as well. We will be using them every year now.

This company claims to have purchased cvcc corp (F rating)which also goes by central va chimney chap. That liscence is revoked and has records on file where they were charged and suspended for taking money and not completing work. Do not prepay for work or engage in business with this company. Always claims to be on a roof and will call back. No active LLC on file

Review: In October of 2015 I contracted RVA Chimney sweep to repair two of my chimneys and put two caps of the top of the chiminey. After numerous appointments, they finally arrived to do the work. Only to find out that they brought the wrong size chimney cap. After a couple of months of missed appointments on their part, they were finally able to come back with the proper cap. In the meantime, they missed at least three appointments that they said they were going to show up, but never did. Finally in February of 2016 they showed up to complete the job with the proper cap. At payment time, the contractor insisted that I pay him for additional work that was not needed to be done. I only agreed upon our set price and he walked away very irritated. After one month, a gust of wind blew the cap off the house. I contacted the contractor to fix it, only to be told that it would be a $75 service fee. Obviously the cap was not secured in the first place. I threatend to call the Revdex.com and he said they would come by to repair the cap. It has been three months, birds have gotten inside the chimney, and I have yet to hear back from the contractor. They promised one thing, and never followed up. Also they tried to overcharge me at the completion date which is unacceptable. At this point, I only want the cap to be securely mounted and birds removed due to their lack of follow up. At my age, I do not want to climbing roofs.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the chimney cap properly mounted and get rid of the birds that have occupied the space due to their inefficiencies.

Review: We had our chimney instpected on 11-7-15. We was told that we needed some work done on the chimney and we made an appointment to have that done on the 11/11/15. We made a deposit of $340. On 11/11/15 nobody never showed up. We called the office and they said they would have an inspector call us back. I had took off from work to be there and nobody showed up. We never heard back from anybody until 8 that night. He informed us that they went to the incorrect house and he apologized. We then made an appointment for 11/14/15 to have the work done. On 11/14/15 we was told we need to pay extra for a cap for our chimney. I then wrote a check for $468.11. He told us that another person does that and we did not need to be there to have the cap put on. As of today we still have not received the cap. We have been calling the office every day and they say somebody will call us back. My husband called the office again on Thursday and asked for our money back.

This is very unprofessional. We paid Over $800 for a service that has taken weeks to be done and it’s still uncompleted.Desired Settlement: We would just like to have our money back for the part we paid for but never received.

Review: I put a deposit on new masonry stones that would be installed 4 weeks later. It has now been 2 months and I've tried contacting the company 3 times and no one has returned my phone calls. They claim the business is 27/7 yet the answering service says they are not open on weekends or after 5pm. When I call during business hours they say they don't have anyone available to take my call but will call me back, which no one does. This company is a sham! If I don't get my stones installed within a week I'm going to file a complaint at my local magistrate office.Desired Settlement: I need the stones to be installed within a week.
