I am writing in response to the customer's complaint case # ***. I installed the windshield per manufacturer specsand replaced her broken windshield with a new windshield that meets manufacturer specs. The windshield was replaced and was free of any workmanship
defects. Regarding the VA state inspection sticker I explained to Miss *** that the VA inspection stickers are designed to be tamper proof and are not designed to be reused/removed. I made a concerted effort to remove and replace the inspection decal unfortunately it did not work out. The inspection stickers are manufactured to be tamper proof with perforated edges in sections in the middle so that they cannot be stolen and re-used by thieves. I also explained to Miss *** that according to Virginia state code the sticker can be replaced at any VA state inspection center without the vehicle being re-inspected, Per the "Code of VA 46.2-1164- Re-inspection Not Required when windshield replaced". I was not negligent in my actions regarding her inspection sticker. I never make any guarantees to a customer that a inspection sticker will be successfully removed and re-applied. The trim and clip that Miss *** references in her complaint are not related to any function of the windshield or the windshield sealing process she mentions in her letter. Any damages she claims at this point are pointless to argue. I did not take pictures before the work was performed so it would be hard to prove or disprove that the damage was not already there before I did the work. I use protective mats when working on customer's vehicles to prevent any damage to the interior and exterior of a vehicle. Miss *** asked me for a first time customer discount after I already performed the work. I explained to her that my profit margin was only $not including my travel time to and from her residence which was almost an hour one way. Ms*** was irritated and argumentative when I handed her the bill because there was a convenience fee of $for using a credit card and state tax of $I told Ms*** I would wait if she preferred to go to an A.T.Mif she preferred not to use a credit/debit card but she declined saying it was too late for that. Ms*** signed the invoice acknowledging the repair was satisfactory but was verbally angry with me for charging tax and a service feeI mention the above because it would seem this complaint is an effort to retaliate against me for charging her the applicable fees. Months after the windshield was replaced I was contacted by my credit card processing company, Square. Square said that Ms*** wanted a refund and they may refund her money based on their findingsI presumed she got a refund since I never heard from her or Square again regarding the issue I can only deduce from Miss ***'s actions that she is trying to take advantage of a small business owner. I have not received any complaints for my workmanship with the Revdex.com or my company prior to this complaint. I have since worked with hundreds of customers and when I make a mistake I correct it. I stand behind my work and do not take kindly to slanderous accusations against myself and my business. I cannot comprehend how I am expected to pay for damages that I did not do. I am not willing to pay for a damages claim especially after the customer paid me and signed the invoice prior to inspecting my completed work. I also believe Miss *** would have pointed out any defects or poor workmanship at the time she looked over her vehicleShe did inspect the vehicle thoroughly after the work was performed. At her request I had to wipe down the car because it was hot that evening and my sweat got on the paint of her car. Review: I contacted RVA Glass to do a windshield replacement on my Nissan Altima. The technician did not seal my windshield properly, he damaged the left inside panel beam, and the left outside clip close to the end of the hood is loose. I tried to contact the merchant on several attempts to no avail. The technician also lost my inspection sticker doing the transfer of installing the new windshield. I had to get another sticker due to his negligence. He stated that he guarantees his work- I'm very disappointed, tried to dispute charge- but because I signed off on invoice- there wasn't anything that my bank could do.Desired Settlement: Since I've tried making contact with the merchant to no avail. I would like to be compensated for the damage done to my vehicle. I have pictures of the damage and poor workmanship.
