RWJ Health Network Ambulance Service

I received numerous bills for ambulance services used on 7/23/17. I repeatedly informed them my insurance provider Kaiser paid the bill. They ignored me and kept sending bills from October until Kaiser's representative informed them...they sent the bill to the WRONG payment unit! Once the error was corrected, I received a $200.00 co-pay on March 2, 2018. I have tried several times to reach them. I am on the west coast so there is a 3 hour time difference and there is no way to pay my bill online. While doing research about the service provided, I am questioning why a hospital St Peter's hospital within 2 miles of the dispatch was passed and now my co-pay is for 6 miles as opposed to 2 at $35.00 per mile which appears to be so much. Per investigating the average costs I found that an injured person should "Plan on spending at least $3 to $10 per mile driven if the ambulance has to drive outside of its radius". (How much is it.org). So due to (a) their lack submitting the bill to the right payables department along with unresponsiveness and (b) a drive from Marriott Residence Inn on World's Fair Drive, and passing a closer hospital, I question the co-pay of $200.00 for 6 miles....unbelievable!
