Ryan Rents

I [redacted] $50.00 to Ryan for an application fee. I e-mailed him and told him that it was sent and he said he would call me when he picked it up. One hour later I emailed Ryan and said that there had been a change in plan and that I no longer wished to do an application. He proceeded to pick up my money from [redacted] and I never received a phone call. I e-mailed Ryan to request my application fee back and mailed him a postage paid envelope a week later. It has been about 2 weeks and I have not heard back from him regarding this matter.I believe he is a scam artist.Desired SettlementI would like and immediate refund of my $50.00 and a record to be made of this case so that he can not do this to other poeple. Business Response Copy-and-paste of email sent to [redacted] on JULY 11TH, the day after receiving her email dated JULY 10TH, and TWO DAYS BEFORE her complaint to the Revdex.com claiming she had not heard from us:I have not received an envelope from you. I'm sorry you changed your mind, but this very situation is addressed clearly in our "how to apply" page on our website. Once you send your application fee, the only way it is refundable is if you follow though and rent one of our homes. If I recall, you [redacted] your fee, then drove to the property, and decided that it was further than you wanted to live from Raleigh. If you read our website and advertisements, we ask everyone to do their due diligence (which is free) before involving us. This includes driving by the house on your own before you apply. We also provide the exact address of each property so that you can map it without even needing to leave your computer. We ask applicants to pay their application fee online for simplicity and to expedite the application process, but you sent yours via [redacted]. I personally drove almost 25 miles round trip and stood in line 20 minutes to collect it, and once I returned to the office, I saw that you had changed your mind. Had you done your due diligence ahead of time as we ask everyone to do, this would have all been avoided. I regret that you won't be renting from us and that you wasted $50, but this is why our fee is nonrefundable.
