Ryan Reph Remodeling Inc Reviews (1)

Review: We signed a contract for a bathroom remodel with Ryan Reph Remodeling on March 12, 2013. The contract states that the job would start on August 19, 2013 and be completed on or before September 16, 2013. Ryan Reph asked if he could start the job early, on August 14, 2013, which we voluntarily agreed to. The job still has not been finished 61 days after the promised completion date. We have given Ryan Reph Remodeling access to our house at all times called for in the contract.

The shower door was improperly cut by his contractor, [redacted], and on 10/31/13 they said they would replace it at no cost, but that still has not been done. (There were other problems with the shower enclosure when they initially installed it.) The shower tile work, specifically the grout and decorative mosaic, was not done properly despite numerous attempts and Ryan Reph told us to get a quote from a tile professional to have it fixed properly since his company was unable to do so. It took us a couple of weeks to obtain the quote and once we provided it to him he said it was too high. At that point, he said that he wanted to redo the tile work himself - but we pointed out that there was no reason to think he would be successful since he had failed on previous attempts. On Wednesday, November 13th, he agreed that we had a good point and told us that he wanted to get quotes from other tile professionals since ours was too high. We agreed to consider quotes from other tile professionals and asked him to provide names to us so we could arrange appointments with them around our work schedules. He still hasn't provided those names to us. There have been numerous other problems with this project since it began, but these are the two major items holding up completion.Desired Settlement: We would like to terminate the contract with Ryan Reph Remodeling since it is clear that they are not capable of properly fixing the tile work and properly installing the shower door (which was initially installed in September - approximately 1 1/2 months ago). We would like to make a downward equitable adjustment to the contract price, reducing it by a minimum of $5,400 which is our estimate of what it will cost to have a shower enclosure properly installed ($3,500 was allotted for this in the contract) and $1,900 to redo the grout work and mosaic tile (this was the amount of the quote we received from the tile company).
