Ryan's Tree Service Reviews (3)

I'm sorry Mrs. [redacted] is unhappy with her husband's decision on having their crepe Myrtle cut down below the window which was discussed. Mr. [redacted] wanted it cut down to below the window so they could see out it. There was no discussion on having them cut and shaped.  I'm also sorry Mr. [redacted] is unhappy with his decision on topping his birch tree which he  originally wanted topped 15' off of a 30' tree which would have looked even worse than the 10' that was discussed and agreed upon  over the phone. If you cut more than 30% of a tree it would kill the tree and that also was talked about and that's why the 10 foot was agreed-upon. He also wanted the Birch cut back a couple of feet away from the house. No top and round and thinning was talked about and agreed-upon  for the amount of $400. My crew did what was talked and agreed upon over the phone. We have talked to the crew about the damage Mr. [redacted] says had happened to the driveway which they said one of the legs of the landing gear had put a in print in his driveway so we are willing to refund $150 for the patching of the said in print. When it comes to  The actual tree work that was performed we did exactly what was talked about and agreed upon.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The reply from Ryan's Tree Service is just what I expected. Full of lies and assumptions. First of all, this was our first experience dealing with a tree service. We didn't know what to expect, or what to look for in a company, other than if they had insurance. Since I am a very honest and professional person, who does not fabricate, I cannot confirm or deny whether my wife agreed or disagreed that the shavings were part of the agreement. That being said, I have hired a third party to clean up Ryans Tree Service's mess and may seek legal action to recover those costs. Secondly, my wife and I were NEVER approached, verbally or visually with a contract. NEVER. It was never discussed, or mentioned by anyone from Ryan's Tree Service until we started having issues with them. The first issue I had with Ryan's Tree Service was when I called Vick, the owner. Who belligerently tried to bully me. I advised him I was a federal officer that I don't take that kind of verbal abuse and advised him that the way he was conducting himself was not proper for a business owner in which he agreed and later apologized. Vick called me an "[redacted]", a "JOKE", and did not care who the "[redacted] I was". He told me he was going to fire his manager "[redacted]" over apparently false promises, as they were unable to retrieve the stump grinder. [redacted] then showed up to my house and told us he was that Vick was spreading a rumor that he was fired, but he quit. [redacted] then sought after more work, as I told him the first time I met him I needed more work to be done to our home. I denied his services. As to Mr. R, the day of our stumping was pouring rain and we had to run errands. We asked the man who was stumping if he was going to take the stump that he had cut and the chips and he answered no. We called Vick and he advised my wife that we were getting his phone "wet" and he was "done with us". We met Mrs. R inside her truck by pulling up beside her and advised her of what was said from her worker and she replied that the stump would be removed but chips were not. She referred to the "contract" several times in which she would not show us. We advised her that we had never seen nor authorized this so called contract and she stated "how do I know you didn't just throw it away?" and my response was I am not a liar, I am a professional, I am a federal officer who does not lie. She began to explain that her family are lawyers and judges, I advised her that we would see her in court.
Any GOOD business with an A++ Revdex.com rating would not treat their customers in the demeanor that these owners have treated us. This company does not deserve that kind of rating. They left our new deck full of wood chips. Any GOOD business would have the integrity to sweep the mess they created. The businesses website states the following: "Ryan's Tree Service of Theresa, NY offers complete, professional tree solutions at reasonable rates. Our fully insured business is committed to providing prompt service and quality workmanship to our valued commercial and residential customers. At Ryan's Tree Service, our tree contractors are experienced, knowledgeable, and prepared to exceed your expectations."
The owners of Ryan's Tree service were not Professional, did not provide prompt service, and did not exceed our expectations. If this is the motto of their business, they are failing.
Due to the contract being NULL AND VOID. I am requesting $250 to cover clean-up costs of our lawn. I am requesting Ryan's Tree Service to issue a written statement acknowledging their unprofessionalism, and written apology. I will not except anything less. PERIOD.
Regards,

On May 24th, 2015 our foreman Bradley M. had went to the property of [redacted] to give them an estimate to take down a couple of trees which were as follows; Take down 1 black walnut and 1 boxelder tree in back yard inside of fence area both close to deck. Grind both stumps and removal...

of grindings is not included but removal of all brush and wood from the tree work is included. At first when speaking with [redacted] before writing up the paperwork for the job Bradley told her the amount would be $1500.00 and she said that was to much money and so he dropped the price to $1250.00 she told Bradley she would put the chips in her flowerbed but confirmed that the brush and wood were to be removed. [redacted] said that he told her that she was correct that all the brush and wood would be removed and the yard would be all raked up from the tree work itself but when the stumps do get ground that the chips were to be left for her flower garden and she agreed. [redacted] and [redacted] agreed on a the date for removal to be set for Wednesday May 27th.   On May 27th, 2015 the boys arrived to the property of the [redacted] at approximately 9:15am. Mr. H. proceeded to give [redacted] the paperwork for the tree removal but she was in a hurry to go somewhere and never took the paperwork. Not exactly remembering the time frame of her absence she had returned and just as the tree work was just about to be finished [redacted] approached [redacted] and [redacted] letting them know they were finished for the day and the tree work itself was completed that he would be back another day to grind the stumps. [redacted] said he explained to them that the stump grinder was stuck out on a Island and just as soon as we got it picked up he would be back to grind their stumps and he would like them to hold $150.00 for the stumps till he returned to grind them. [redacted] said no that it was fine he waned to pay for the whole thing at once and [redacted].[redacted] told her husband to to hold the money for the stumps and he again said he just waned to pay it all [redacted] said he tried to give him the proposal and [redacted] said he didn't need it. [redacted] said he told them Thank you and he would be back to grind the stumps just as soon as they got the grinder back.    In the weeks to follow [redacted] and [redacted] had called several time inquiring about having their stumps ground and between [redacted] and Victor R. the owner they had told them what was going on with the grinder and the man with the barge which was as follows: [redacted] the owner of the barge was supposed to transport [redacted] to the island to get the grinder but many reasons had come up that [redacted] was not able to go out to the Island for example all of the rain that we were getting, then the ground was too wet to try and get the equipment on and off the island.  [redacted] had phoned [redacted] asking him when would be a good day and time for them to meet up so they could go get the grinder and the date was set. In the meantime [redacted] and [redacted] had called a few more time inquiring when we were coming to grind there stumps that they had already paid for. We had to explain to them what was going on and just as soon as we got the grinder back we would be there. [redacted] had met up with [redacted] to go get the grinder but just the way things had been going when [redacted] got to the Island to get the grinder it wouldn't start [redacted] the Barge owner and [redacted] tried to get the grinder running. No luck so they took out the starter and the battery to have them checked. [redacted] was to call [redacted] as soon as we could go back to the Island. A few more days had passed and again [redacted] had called wanting to know why we weren't there yet and of course Vic had to explain again now getting a little frustrated with their constant phone calls we had to buy a new battery and replace the starter and that [redacted] in the meantime had gone in to have surgery on his hand and just as soon as he could he would take us out to get the grinder. A few days had passed which now was June 15th and yet again [redacted] had called [redacted] about the stumps and [redacted] explained to him that he no longer works for us to call Vic. [redacted] then called Vic saying he was a federal officer and he was going to do something about this if we weren't there to grind his stumps. Vic proceeded to tell him with a little anger in his voice that we had just got the grinder back and we would be there to get his stumps done tomorrow.   On June 16th [redacted] Ryan had sent myself Sheila R. and another employee out to grind [redacted] stumps before we had left the shop we had called to confirm the address and our call had gone to an answering machine. We had left a message and [redacted] phoned us right back, we told her we were on our way to grind the stumps. When we got there I myself walked up to the house to confirm we had the right address and [redacted] came out onto the porch where I proceeded to tell him who I was and we were there to grind his stumps. We had to cut the stump down a little more and proceded to grind the stumps. It started to pore down rain so I went and sat in the truck and our employee got on a rain coat to finish grinding the stumps. A little time had passed and a vehicle had pulled up along side of our truck, I rolled down the window and it was [redacted] and [redacted]. I said hi and [redacted] said they had just spoke to our employee because they were taking off for a bit and wanted to make sure the chips and wood was going to be removed and at that time our employee told them the chips were not being removed nor the wood from the stumps. I explained to them that yes the wood was going to be removed that if we couldn't get it ourselves than I would get two bigger guys back to pick it up. [redacted] said the chips were to also be removed and I explained to him per the proposal the chips were to stay and all brush and wood were to be removed, he became very argumentative saying are you calling me a lier I'm a federal officer and I said no I'm not calling you a lier but I am going by my paperwork and again it says all brush and wood are to be removed and grindings are not included. Nonstop saying I'm a federal officer you think I'm lying and I said I'm also not lying my paperwork says grindings not being removed. [redacted] than says all the money we paid you think I'm cleaning up that mess your manager said "it would be like we were never there" and again I say I'm sorry I'm going buy my paperwork. [redacted] than says I'm a federal officer and did we sign the contract so In return I'm getting a little upset myself no and I also have family members who are Judges and lawyers but that has nothing to do with this job. Then he says it again you think Im lying I'm a federal officer, aren't you with the Revdex.com and I replied yes. He says I'm filling a complaint and I'll see you in court. He stepped on the gas and took off.    I then call [redacted] and told him what had just happened and asked him about the wood chips and he confirmed the chips were staying as per the proposal and that Mr. B. said she was going to put the wood chips in her flower garden. I then got back out of the truck and proceeded to help load the grinder and two pieces of wood.    This morning when I checked our e-mails at about 8:45am I noticed one from the Revdex.com I then called the number listed on the complaint thinking it was the Revdex.com's number but was the Home owners number. When [redacted] answered the phone he said "Hello" and I asked him if this was the Revdex.com he said "No" and then I said "sorry I have the wrong number." Not knowing it was him at first. He called me right back and asked who I was and I told him who I was. I then proceeded to tell him I had spoken to [redacted] right after him and his wife had left and [redacted] confirmed the chips were staying that the original price of the job was $1500.00 and that [redacted] dropped the price to $1250.000 and that your wife said she was going to keep the chips and use them in her flower garden. He then proceeded to tell me "I know and we don't have a flower garden." "Yes sir you do all along the garage with landscaping timbers," he says again "no we don't have a flower garden." I then siad "yes you do, Thank you for your business and have a good day."
