Review: I purchased two VIP tickets to July **th, Rye Playland's R5 concert. Upon arriving to the venue I was told that I needed to pay entrance to the park, when I expressed that I had no interest in the park and only wanted to get to the stage where the band was to perform, they responded by saying that the only way to the stage was by walking thru the park. I was forced to purchase entrance to the park, and spend an additional $20. Basically the only choice given to me was pay the $20 or loose $178 that I already paid to attend the concert. This was an intentional, deceitful way for them to make more money. I would like the refund of the entrance to the park.Desired Settlement: Please have Rye Playland refund my $20.

Response:

We are in receipt of the following complaint by Ms. [redacted] regarding a purchase of RS VIP upgrades

to a July ** concert at Playland Park. Although the RS concert was held at Playland Park the upgrade

purchased by Ms. [redacted] was not an upgrade that was sold by Playland Park.for the concert. This upgrade

was sold on the RS fan website (VIP offer from website attached) by this management. This upgrade was not

a ticket to the concert and Playland did not receive any monetary compensation for this upgrade.

Playland as well as the promoters knew nothing in advance of this offer made available on the RS website.

We became aware of this offer on the day of the concert by RS management. They informed us that any VIP

upgrade did not include admission into the Park and we were to charge as we normally would for entry into the Park.

The concert was held in the amusement park and was included in any Park admission purchased. This is why Ms. [redacted]

paid a $20 admission at Playland.

On the attached page from the RS website it clearly states the VIP package and what it includes. It does not include admission

into Playland and is written "This is a VIP upgrade only and does not include a ticket to the show" in bold and under the second

bullet below that it states ".....need to have a regular ticket to the concert to enter the venue ...."

If Ms. [redacted] feels that she was mislead then she should contact the management of RS who promoted and sold this offer.

This evening 7/**/15 at 7:20 I went to get a Westchester park Pass. Immediately I was asked how I woul be paying for the Pass which cost $75. I told them by debit card, so someone was called from another location and came to pick up my card. That was a Rye playland employee who came and left the Admissions office with my card. Then I was given an application by a woman I can't recall she was older [redacted] I think she said her name was Jackie. I'm thinking shouldn't this have been done before I was charged $75. So after I completed the application I said I should be in the system already because I had a pass before but she couldn't find it. Then the system went down so she called a tech. Then the person who took my card came back and asked me to sign and gave me a receipt. Shortly after the tech got the system up and left. I was given a receipt and then minutes later the lady told me the machine was acting up . All the while she was fielding questions about the impending storm and whether the park was opened. She then printed two cards that had the wrong expiration date. After I poed for two more pics she told me I would be refunded. I said why did you charge me before even giving me the application?. The woman so took my card was called back she took my card again and five minutes later someone else appeared with my card telling me to sign. I asked for a manager because I was concerned about my card being out of the building and then being brought to me by someone else and also wanted to complain about waiting 30 minutes having been charged and now had no card and would have to wait days to be refunded by my bank. Basically I was told to fill out a complaint form, apparently this is how they handle customers rather than face to face. Unacceptable. I spent $75 waited 35 minutes and went home empty handed. No one had any answers for me . I'm still in shock .
