We RYS Home Improvement installed the floor according to the manufacturer's installation instructions, the problems *** *** is experiencing with the floor are site related. An inspection was conducted and there was no installation nor manufacturing related issues present, please see
attached:

The customer was supposed to have all materials available before we start the project, she did not have the transitions sticks needed. I went to pick it up at lumber liquidators they gave me the wrong sticks. I had my guy pick it up another time, they gave him two stick that we needed and the third one needed to be changed. When I came to install she didn't like what I suggested so I took one of the sticks to the store to exchange it but they didn't have it in stock. They issued a refund to her card for the stick I returned and put a hold of the stick needed at another store. In the morning of the day we scheduled to install the stick the [redacted] of the store said we cannot give the stick because a credit was issued to the customer and she had to pay for the one on hold. We called her twice she never picked up. Called her back again at 2pm to let her know she had to pay for the stick in order for us to install she then blamed me for not having the stick ready. I told her to pay for it so I can pick it up and install the next day she said she enough and didn't want me back at her place. All this would of been avoided if she had all materials available like our contract specified.

The customer told us (RYS Home Improvement) she would have all of the materials available required to start and finish the job, however, when we arrived she was missing a transition piece and we agreed to pick it up from Lumber Liquidators. When we arrived to pick up the transitions they were short...

one stick, we told LL they were short and they said they would send the missing stick directly to the customer, however, they never sent it.  The customer never called me ([redacted]) but she called Lumber Liquidators.  As stated in our contract, we are not responsible for procurement of materials or deliveries but we did try to help.  When the customer is prepared to move forward we will schedule with her and complete the project.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
The so called "inspection report" submitted as a RESPONSE  to my complaint is paid for by Lumber Liquidators.  I personally did not see the installer's "meter readings" when he was here to see the cracking floor the first time. I was told to immediately run out and buy a humidifier. Any normal person's reaction to this experience would be absolute horror.
I purchased my own meter the day after the Installation Service came here.  This was two weeks after the Install. The Lumber Liquidators Installer called me the following Monday. He informed me that there are numerous complaints on the Internet about cracking Bellawood. The Lumber Liquidators Installation Service took 3 readings before the wood started cracking. Now the report submitted says this situation is "site" related.
My meter readings with the thermometer I purchased have consistently been within the required range. I even had this thermometer here during Lumber Liquidators "so called" inspection.  I pointed out to The Lumber Liquidators "[redacted]" that my consumer meter showed the humidity and temperature to be in the required range. Normal people do not own an [redacted]'s meters.

Since this nightmarish situation, there is not one crack in the pine baseboard. The floor is now totally cracked and is gapping. It continues to crack with each passing day. My thermometer  shows that the temperature and humidity in this apartment, which is "Central Air" and controlled by the building, is within the proper range.
There are 429 Units in my Apartment complex. The temperature and humidity is controlled by the Building. The Building Management is not aware of any other unit with this situation.
I did not walk into this [redacted] and ask to purchase the Brazilian Chestnut. This wood is on display and I was shown it by the salespeople. This product was "misrepresented" to me. No floor on the planet is that beautiful that any consumer would knowingly want to pay all this money and enter this Nightmare. What wood floor lasts 2 weeks? I now also have to pay the expense to have this removed.  Many people have complained on the internet that this product is not dried properly. It is not suitable for installation in this climate. This is NOT a site related issue.  To now blame me and not "refund" my money is unethical. This nightmarish situation is beyond belief. My apartment has been unlivable since this purchase.
In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Review: I am a single woman who purchased Brazilian Chestnut Engineered Bellawood flooring from Lumber Liquidators at **. I also purchased all other materials for installation there. This is their "premium" flooring. I paid a "premium price" for a 320 sq. ft. in a small one-room studio apartment. I used the [redacted]'s recommended installer so that I would qualify for their "100 Year transferrable Warranty". The floor was finished January **, 2014. After 2 weeks the floor started cracking. It now has cracking down the center of the boards on the entire floor. It is only two months later. The wood that I saved in a box also is also cracked. The only wood that is not cracked is the natural pine base molding I purchased from a Lumber Yard 3 years ago. I had this installed along with the floor. I contacted the [redacted] and was told by the [redacted] that it the Bellawood was cracking because I did not use their polish. I only had the floor 2 weeks and never polished it. I dusted it with a microfiber cloth.

I filed a complaint with Lumber Liquidators customer service. After numerous phone calls, sending them the saved boards, a visit from their “[redacted]” I was told it is “my fault”. How ridiculous. If there was an issue with the room, I should have been informed of this by the installer. It was his job to check room conditions with meters when he gave me an estimate, prior to installation, and at the end of the job. I live in a Doorman Building.

The Building controls both the heat and humidity. There are several hundred Units in 2 Buildings. Most all have wood floors. “No” other apartment has this issue. The Building Management has informed me that they have never seen anything like this.

My apartment is now unlivable because the cracking continues to worsen and keeps me up at night. I hear cracking now as I write this report. The wood will need to be removed along with the premium glues, soundproofing, thresholds, etc. I am out the cost of the all materials, the installation, and will need to pay for the removal. Lumber Liquidators did not remove my original wood floor (which had no cracking, just old). I am in worse situation ‘money wise’ then when I entered the [redacted]. Even if they did honor their warranty with a [redacted] credit, that would be Absurd. I bought “their best”, used “their installer”. Who would want to walk in this nightmare a second time? Then wind up once again paying to rip it out with the same warranty and customer service.Desired Settlement: I want Rys Home Improvement to refund me the cost of Installation. I also want them to come back and remove the floor and take it away. If there was any problem with my apartment conditions or the product, they should have informed me prior to taking my money. They install primarily for the Lumber Liquidators [redacted]. My payment to them was made thru Lumber Liquidators. Both the [redacted] and their actions are unethical.

Review: The main issues include wood planks that can be felt to sag or visibly bend from normal pressure exerted by standing or walking in every room RYS installed. Additionally, walking on the floor is accompanied with constant sounds of what can be described as ‘walking on popcorn’. We requested RYS inspect the floors and address our concerns. After several attempts at contact and two failed scheduled visits to re-inspect the floor an

RYS representative finally arrived to the apartment on August [redacted] 2015. The RYS representative suggested we either accept the uneven floor as satisfactory or re-install using “a glue down” method for an additional charge of $2100! He then attempted to demonstrate that the floor was level by reading two random height measurements

within a 10 ft span, one of 8' 15/16" the other 8' 1/2"?, citing the industry standard is less than or equal to 1?/?16 inches. Unfortunately, the difference in these measurements is ?7/?16 inches, which is ?4/?16" outside of standard. The floor warranty states: installation area and subfloor must be dry, stiff and flat within industry standards,

([redacted])?.

The current floors are unsatisfactory and do not appear to be flat within industry standards. We base this on the measurement given and the following indications: 1. We suspect poor preparation of the subfloor as no leveling compound was used after pulling up the old parquet floor. In fact, our request for a flat, level floor stalled the first day of installation until the installers came prepared to ensure the floor is adequately prepared. 2. The installers returned the second day with a flooring compound we were told was sufficient to ensure our floor is flat. We now know the installers used a patching material intended to fix small areas. This patching requires requires far less labor and time to apply compared to a leveling compound. We were charged a separate bill of $400 for this patching. 3. There are visible signs of sinking accompanied by noises from the boards that indicate too much freedom of movement in a vertical direction. We have valid concerns the floors will worsen with time and the warranty has become void by the incorrect installation. We are not experts and now believe our reliance on the expertise of RYS to work within industry standards was misguided. To date their representative has only offered 2 remedies, one that corrects their faulty work but requiring more money or we the customer learn to accept an incorrect installation. This is completely unacceptable and appears to be a scam.Desired Settlement: 2 Options:

1. reimbursement of the original labor amount. As it stands we have little faith RYS will complete the job and we prefer to use a different company.

2. proper installation of floors. Should RYS provide sufficient proof extra labor and materials are required to complete the job to standard then we are willing to consider additional costs, but under no circumstances we will pay twice for work and/or materials.

At this time, I have not been contacted by RYS Home Improvement Corp. regarding complaint ID [redacted].Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: I got this contractor from Lumber Liquidator to install 2 rooms which was done and the workers did a great job. There was a problem with thresholds that was ordered incorrectly not by RYS but by the store so he was not able to complete the job. (Still feeling good about company). The problem came mostly after this. [redacted] sent back a worker and he only had 3 pieces instead of 4 and the job still not complete. This was over two weeks ago and I contacted Lumber Liqidators and I called [redacted] twice and no call back. I am still holding $200 of payment but this job needs to be completed. I was going to contact the owner of RYS Home Improvement and just found out is the same person I am dealing with so (no point).

My only complaint has been the lack of service and attention on [redacted]'s side. Since he contracted this jobs he has not been here. He had the 3 guys come in and had alot of personal stuff only on that came out doing my service. Before this happen I was going to get my basement done with them and will not have him do any more work for me but I need to completed ASAP.Desired Settlement: Call your customer and complete what you started so I can be done.

I went to Lumber Liquidators on 1/**/2014 at 2.13pm to collect the items that RYS Home Improvement /[redacted] told me to collect for the job. When I got there [redacted] from [redacted] LIC phone ###-###-#### told me the order wasnt in then she called [redacted] via phone after speaking she located the order and stated some items she did not have but spoke with [redacted] and will have him bring to the job in the morning. I did not feel I had to call any one at that point because I was there when the store called and work this all out. SECONDLY, he came in the morning of 2/*/14 to do the job without the materials. He had his guys start the work while he then went to get the items which I think he should of had walking into the job.

I also want to point out that I was not just missing the "TRANSITIONS" at that point. He bought to me everything I ordered on 1/**/2014 which was on invoice [redacted] not like he stated in his response. also they were not short one stick- they didn't have any at that point with the color that matched the floor

Then he comes hours later knowing clearly he was coming with the wrong color/materials. He stated that himself. I know that part wasn't his fault but if he had collected the materials the night prior we might had been able to correct the error.

Then to make things worst 2 weeks later a guys come to complete the work and is short one piece and can't finish the job. Two of the other pieces he did place are lifting. Then on top of everything he has not called me to complete the job. I called Lumber Liquidators because he didn't return my (2) calls and they recommended him to me. I think, he should of been the one reaching out to complete the job because the last time I checked I was the CUSTOMER. I can not tell you how many time [redacted] from Lumber Liquidators has called me to see if [redacted] has called me back or completed the job and I told her NO to both. If you don't believe me please feel free to call her.

This customer is here still waiting for her job to be completed and for him to fix the last pieces they placed that are lifted. I am a phone call away. My number did not change.###-###-####

The CUSTOMER did NOT purchase the wrong materials. I went to LIC STORE to pick up the materials needed to start this job on 2/*/2014. The order was not in the store when I got there 1/**/2014 because [redacted] stated she didn't have the work order from [redacted]. SHE contacted [redacted] via cell and told him that she would order the item once she found the order slip and could he pick up... HE STATED YES!!! On Saturday February [redacted] ,2014 he came to my home after the worker with out the items he stated he would bring. Then he said he would go collect the items (AT THE LAST MINUTE) He came back with the wrong items,, HE KNEW THIS BECAUSE HE STATED THAT THE MINUTE HE WALKED INTO MY APARTMENT. I will tell you the truth and what has happen. I made what I thought would be the last appointment on April **, 2014 for him to come on April ** at 5pm. HE WAITED AGAIN FOR THE LAST MINUTE TO COLLECT SAID ITEM. He stated he called me from the LIC store this so called call came after 2.30pm on my phone. AGAIN I DONT UNDER STAND WHY I AM GETTING THIS CALL AT THE LAST MINUTE but I call LIC and speak to a man. I ask for [redacted] he stated she is not at that location anymore. So I then tell him that I just got a voice message from [redacted] that I needed to call LIC about a T-Molding. He stated that [redacted] is one of there contractors and that he was there this morning????????? THIS MORNING SO WHY IS THIS MAN CALLING ME AFTER 2PM!!!!
