In August of 2013 I filled out an application for Net Pay Bankcard. I ultimately decided to use a different merchant to process my business debit cards. After filling out the application I received a phone call asking me to verify my Federal ID number and SSN. Thinking the phone call was my original processor (the one I had chosen) I provided the information, as well as a copy of a voided check. Shortly after beginning to process bank cards (through a different carrier) I began receiving phone calls from customers complaining that my business name was on their credit card statements and they had never heard, nor used my services. Unaware of what had taken place I received a phone call from Net Pay (still thinking it was the processor I was using) stating they had mixed up my merchant ID with another and they had "accidentally" deposited $6,986.56 into my account. This money belonged to another business. They informed me that this money would be debited from my account. I agreed, as it was not my money to begin with. Later that month I was charged $239.47 in fees associated with the $6,986.56. They then refunded $190.12 of those fees. Leaving me with 49.35. They also continued to charge me an average of $30/month. I contacted them regarding these fees. They explained to me that I had filled out the application and was sent an email stating I was approved with a link attached to activate my account. They confirmed that I had never activated my account, ordered a swiper to process cards through them, or used their services (other than the $6,986.56 mistake...that was actually another merchants). In that case they agreed to refund me $124 in monthly fees but refused to issue a refund for the $49.35 remaining charges.
