I reviewed the  [redacted] purchase today. He purchased the 2014 F-150 on 12/12/2015. Along with the truck he purchased a service contract, gap insurance, and a 3 for 1 contract.  All money was refunded by payment to the loan balance he agreed to on the finance contract. As a dealer...

I completed research on the history of this case. Mr. Vandenhoven brought the van here on instruction of his mechanic, Vans Highway service. He instructed us to reprogram a used body control module. This worked temporarily, but soon  failed. We then tried a new body control module and it went...

back into security mode. The local auction transporters accidentally picked up his van by mistake. It was very similar to another old van we took on trade that wouldn't run. We then had the van delivered to another dealer of his choice with no charge to customer.[redacted] General Manager S&L Motors920-865-8000 www.slmotors.com

They were very dihonest with the history of the vehicle and the condition of the Dodge Durango that we bought.

Did not give warranty that was on vehicle and told us this was a great running vehicle but within 3 moths we were already having problems with the vehicle. did not tell us that they repainted it and did other body work to the vehicle

I purchased my 5th Chrysler at S&L this January during the 0% financing sale. With this being my 4th dealer to work with it was by far the worst dealership providing the least pleasant time.
I knew what I wanted and I knew the value I needed for my trade in so I called the dealership as soon as they opened (9am) to give them the information on my vehicle and share my interest. Once we agreed upon a trade in value I submitted my information to run the financing application so I could drive up and drive away with the new car.
Well, they never called me back so I just started driving towards the dealership (around 1pm now, and a 1 hour drive). Upon my arrival (about 1:45) I ended up sitting in the waiting room for about 2 hours with no updates. Having an appointment to get to a half hour away from the dealership at 4:30 I needed to get going. I informed the sales person I was working with ([redacted] that I could not wait any longer and would have to return the next day. Suddenly my credit was approved and the sales person refused to give me my keys to my vehicle (he had them from trade inspection). He directed me towards the financing person who I informed we did not have enough time. After going back and forth I FINALLY got my keys back after about another 20 minutes.
During the drive to my appointment I received a call from the sales person giving me the usual "Oh, someone else is interested, can you put down some money". I did since I knew I wanted the car but I was unimpressed with the believed misleading statement.
So now it's the following day. I drive up for 9am when they open to pick up the new car finally. The financing manager [redacted] is relived stating "This works out better because when we rush then things get missed". Still taking a rather ridiculously long amount of wait time we FINALLY finished the financing and were ready to go. During the process of signing the contracts and whatnot, the financing manager was very disorganized and didn't seem to know what he was doing, or at least that he was not confident in it (he was very polite however).
While we were doing the financing application I applied for new generic plates since my old plates were customized to the previous vehicle. The sales person [redacted] took off my old plates and custom Dodge plate frames from my old vehicle. I stated multiple times that I wanted my old plates back (legally they are mine).
Well, with the frustration I drove away in my new car and got home realizing I forgot my old plates. Well sure enough the following week I receive a call from the financing manager [redacted] stating that he missed some paperwork and that he would mail it to me to sign and return. Not a huge deal but frustrating since we had to wait an excessive amount of time to begin with.....
While on the phone with [redacted] I mention that I forgot my plates at the dealership. I requested that the dealership mail them to me (since they were the soul handlers of them to begin with) and he said he would look into it. Well I am over a month and a half later after spending $35,000 and they couldn't even return my plates and plate frames. They couldn't spare $5 to mail them to me.
I am extremely dis-satisfied and hesitate to ever recommend to S&L motors and will refer anyone to almost any other dealership.
The very best dealership I have EVER dealt with was BY FAR Kolosso Chrysler in Appleton.
Please look around before working with S&L as they will frustrate you.I only dread what would happen if I would have to do a lemon law through them! I know that in all my future Chrysler purchases I will be shopping elsewhere!
I have forwarded this experience to Chrysler Group LLC and Chrysler Capital as well so maybe they will shape up in the future.

Review: I purchased a vehicle from S&L motors on dec 6, during the signing of financle contracts [redacted] talked me into purchasing gap protection, an exteneded warrenty and what he called Three for one protection (tires wheels and paint ). The next day I drove back up there to retreive a garage door opener I had left in the vehicle I traded in and told Don M that I did not want the gap coverage, extended warrenty or the three for one coverage, that I wanted my monthly payment to be 407.00 as originally quoted. He then made me sign some cancellation papers and claimed all three would be cancelled and that my payments would be 407.00 per month. I received my first payment stub from Fox Community Credit Union and they say my payments are going to be 441.98 per month. I called S&L motors on Jan 4th to talk to Don, got his voice mail ,left a message to call me back but never received a call. Called back on jan 5th and talked to [redacted] and he told me Don never cancelled the three for one warrentyDesired Settlement: I want all three - the gap insurance the extended warranty and the three for one warranty cancelled and my payments to be 407.00 / mo as originally quoted

I recently had an experience with S&L Motors that was undesirable to say the least. I was interested in purchasing a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with low mileage. I found the vehicle I wanted, test drive it and purchased it that day. The sales process was relatively smooth although the Salesperson, Chad [redacted], came off a little too salesy for my taste. In retrospect, this is probably why comments are usually made about "Used Car Salesmen."
Within 60 days, I was back at the dealership. The Jeep had electrical problems already. I had broken down in a parking lot and the car wouldn't start. When I called the S&L, they were unapologetic and even told me they couldn't guarantee me a rental car. After much arguing they agreed to have one ready. When I arrived they had a cheap Chrysler sedan that hadn't been vacuumed in at least 3-6 months with some sort of sticky remnant splashed on the middle console. I was fuming to say the least but as most people do, I had a job to get to so I left. This was a Thursday. I asked the service folks when I could expect a call and they told me they'd get back to me in the morning. I didn't hear from them until the following Tuesday when I called them. They told me they "didn't know it was urgent since they had given me a rental car" but they would work on the problem that day and call me when the problem was fixed.
I picked up my vehicle and it was clear that they had been in my middle console. They didn't bother to put anything back or reassemble the compartment they took apart. My car also had soot on the drivers seat which hadn't been cleaned. If this was the company I worked for, I would be embarrassed. Thankfully, it is not.
I took my car and left thinking my issue was resolved. 10 days later, I am broken down in a parking lot in Beaver Dam, WI with the exact same issue. When I called the dealership, my experience was not pleasant. Service asked me what the problem was and told me to call Chrysler roadside assistance. I asked to speak to a manager and they quickly pawned me off to Chad [redacted], my sales rep. I asked him if he stands by the cars he sells and he told me, "The lemon law does not apply to used cars." It seemed like a line he has used many times. He quickly tried to hand me over to the Service Manager. Before he did, I asked him what the service manager would do for me. He replied, "I don't know." So I asked him why he was trying to hand me off to the service manager if he didn't know why he was doing it. I could see I was getting nowhere with this call.
At the end of the day, I probably shouldn't have bought a vehicle at such a small time shop. There is definitely a value worth paying for when driving to Green Bay, Appleton or Milwaukee to purchase and service your vehicle. I wouldn't recommend S&L to anyone and am only giving it 1 star because there wasn't an option for Zero.

While we were doing the financing application I applied for new generic plates since my old plates were customized to the previous vehicle. The sales person ([redacted]) took off my old plates (I never said for him to) AND my custom Dodge plate frames from my old vehicle. I stated multiple times that I wanted my old plates back (legally they are mine). Well, with the frustration of earlier events I drove away in my new car and got home realizing I didn’t have my old plates. Well sure enough the following week I receive a call from the financing manager ([redacted]) stating that he missed some paperwork and that he would mail it to me to sign and return. Not a huge deal but frustrating since we had to wait an excessive amount of time to begin with..... While on the phone with [redacted] I mention that they still had my old plates.

I requested that the dealership mail them to me (since they were the soul handlers of them to begin with, and I never gave them specific permission to remove them from my old car in the first place) and he said he would look into it.

I contacted the sales manager (Randy Hylok) in late March with my concerns. He informed me he would have to re-apply for the plates for my new car since the old ones were believed to have been destroyed. I informed him that was alright with me. The last I heard from Randy was April 3rd when he left me a voicemail saying he would be contacting me the following week and hoped to have the whole situation wrapped up in the following week. I have heard nothing since. I am sick of dealing with the poor business practices of this establishment. I just want my plates back and I want to be ensured that nobody is using my old plates since they would still be registered to me, racking up fines and whatnot in my name.Desired Settlement: I would like my license plates either returned or replaced since they were never given to S&L, S&L never technically even had my permission to posses them in the first place. I am also at a loss for my Dodge plate frames which I am very disappointed about but my primary concern is to receive my [redacted] plates.
