We hired this contractor based on the work that we had seen at the house across the street. Our plan was to remodel 2 bathrooms. #1 was a complete demo and re-construction and #2 was a simple remove and replace. With a negotiated quote of $15,000.00 for both bathrooms and a 4 week projected completion date for both bathrooms, we agreed to the job. We were required to give a 50% down payment at time of contract agreement (which we found out is illegal). We also purchased over $1900.00 in materials (to give him our purchasing discount).

#1 - took 7 weeks to complete. Inconsistent work days and hours were a huge part of this delay. We had issues with the texture that was done and asked that it be re-done. We also had asked that un-level tiles in the shower be removed and set again. I do not believe that inspections held up any work. During this time, the contractor was not easy to get a hold of to answer questions/concerns that we had.

Before starting on #2, we sat down and agreed to specific details (which included an exhaust fan change in #1) to keep the job on track. It was agreed that it would take 2 weeks to complete.

#2 – During this time work was done on 7 of 10 days (total hours worked is unknown). On Friday of week 2, the tile was set. This was un-level and not evenly spaced, we voiced our concerns about this. It was obvious that inexperience was a factor in the job being done correctly. We finally had to halt work to discuss the quality of the job that was being done. All of this was done via text message, as phone calls went unanswered. No work was done week 3, on Monday of week 4, contractor was released from the job.

We are finishing this project ourselves as we cannot afford to hire another contractor to come in a complete the job. All tile was removed from the floor as well as the mosaic strip and above tile in the shower area. This peeled right off the wall and the floor tile popped right off, which again questions the quality of the job that was being done.

Would I recommend this contractor to anyone? Absolutely not! We have learned our lesson to research a lot more and to follow an extensive reference check before starting any future projects with another contractor.
