Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The statement supplied by SJ is incorrect, even as it relates to the dates. The original service request was placed on 4/*/14 and the first service person was dispatched on 4/*/14. The boiler was vacuumed on 4/*/14, which was the same day the payment of $212.31 was applied to my credit card. When I came home around 11:00 pm, I found my basement partially flooded. I turned the system off because I didn't know what else to do. Once turned off, the flooding stopped, so by the time the second service person came on 4/**, the ground wasn't as wet as it had been, but it was still damp.Again, as in my original complaint, he had to empty water out of the boiler, and I dumped at least 4-5 buckets of water into the toilet, which is located on the main floor of my unit. Once the water was emptied from the boiler, the system started up. At that time, the service person stated that the boiler may have flooded while it was being vacuumed on 4/*.
I then called SJ and spoke to [redacted], who stated that he would call me back within an hour, since he was busy, which he never did. Four hours later, I called and spoke to [redacted], who tried to blame me for the flooding, stating that I flooded the system when I turned it off, which was inaccurate, since turning it off stopped the system from continuously flooding. [redacted], who stated that he was busy too, said that he would call me back in an hour, which never happened. Both [redacted] and [redacted] were dismissive.
I have dealt with SJ before and had never had any complaints. In my opinion, how this situation was handled was extremely unprofessional, especially since I have always paid them when I utilized SJ's services.

Review: The service people came out to vacum my home heating system and when they left my basement became flooded. When I contacted S.J., they did send someone out and he had to get rid of a lot of water. When I asked if they would give me a credit since it was due to their neglience, I was informed that it was my fault that the basement became flooded eventhough he could not specifically tell me what I did.Desired Settlement: Would like a refund to assist with cleanup due to the water damage in basement.

Response:

We performed a boiler cleaning at [redacted] on 4/*/14. On 4/*/14 I received a call that the basement was flooded. I sent a serviceman back to respond and upon arrival the serviceman did not find a flooded basement. He did find that the water main valve was in a closed position as well as other water valves in the basement. My serviceman opened the water main valve and checked valves at the boiler. We then checked for leaks from boiler. He found no leaks from boiler or related piping. He fired the boiler and checked for steam leaks or any leaks from the system. He determined that water did not come from the heating system since the basement was an unfinished space with dirt floors. We found no water on arrival and our serviceman was unsuccessful in finding out where the water came from. I received a call from [redacted] asking for compensation and I explained that there was no signs of boiler leaking or water coming from boiler and that all we did was a simple vacuum cleaning of boiler.
