Installation instructions were printed on the face on the tankless water heater. Tankless water heater is made in Fountain Valley California USA and installed in Laguna Beach California USA which is less than 20 miles away. Canadian instructions for a plumber calling from 949 area code? They have caller id. Plumber ignored instructions on unit, failed to pull a building permit- inspector would have caught all the following hazards- and failed to plug the water fed unit into GFI  protected electrical box. So his installation could have started a fire 2 different ways- too close to overhead floor joist and plugged unit into unprotected already overloaded electrical box. Someone could have been electrocuted or seriously injured in the absence of a GFI circuit while working around energized unit or touching it standing  in irrigation or rainwater runoff water or investigating a leak on said unit.
He also took 6 months to rectify his blunders with the aid of a mandated building permit accompanied by a qualified plumbing inspector. Add my complaint to his file.
